Constant Timeout Issue

<div class="IPBDescription">"Red Cable Icon" of doom</div>Hi there!

Everytime I join a Server i face that friendly little icon that represents a red cable at the left of my screen. Soon after that I disconnect from the server.
I've forwarded all the neccesary UDP and TCP ports but nothing works!

Only thing that seems to help (and lets me play the game) is when I join a Server and wait for the timeout and then rejoin the exact same server again.

Hope you can fix that for me, because it takes me up to 30 mins to find a good server that isn't already full after my first disconnect so that I can reconnect to it :(

Have you tried this, just in case?

Just tried lowering my "Server-Browser max Pings per Minute" to 500 and it doesn't help.
Still receiving the red cable icon and then TIMEOUT :(

any other ideas how to fix it?
The game is pure awesome, when I'm able to play it but this timeout issue is a fun-killer...

You can try this, it has helped a few:

You can also try to use this website to browse/connect to servers until fixed:

That did the trick for me!
I've done that telnet stuff and unbound the connection port 27010-27011 and tried joining 5 different servers.
guess what .... NO TIMEOUTS :D

Dude ... you just made my day! Awesome tech-support in this forum :)

    Glad it worked. :)
But you should thank the others involved too, like neilman, he brought that fix to the limelight.
    Enjoy ns2!
