Is there any way I can do these things as aliens?

Help!
1) (As a commander) Jump to my bounded units (ctrl+1 etc.) like in other RTS games? I sometimes lose track of where I put my drifters...
2) Use the console to bind upgrades?
3) Know when the marine comm has ordered his things to be recycled and can stop biting them?
4) (As a commander) help my teammates who are fighting a marine if I don't have enzymes in the area?

1. There is a small drifter icon next to the main khammander research menus. You can click that and it'll select drifters.
2. Not at this time.
3. There isn't really a tell-tale sign yet except for when it starts to dissolve randomly before the health is down on it.
4. The only way to help is to build forward structures and enzyme.
As to 1), I tried clicking on them. It would select the individual drifterse but won't bring my screen to them. I have no idea which drifter is which and if I try to give one of them orders it might just be the wrong one and it'll just run to its demise...
And no matter what kind of buiding it recycles just as fast! That seems really painful for aliens, especially if you have a really good Marine Comm. Hard to get a resource advantage if they can just recycle everything before you destroy it... only cost it the cost it takes for them to pay attention to it =(
As saba said. The exceptions so far however are phasegates and obs. The phasegate will lose its blue colour when being recycled and the observatory will stop its 'sweeping animation' and start tilting back and forth.

The system is not very good atm thats for sure! You'll need to use the minimap to individually find the drifters. If the corner minimap is too small, you can press c to bring up a big minimap and move around with that.

On the buildings you damage they only get a percentage back of the original cost in proportion to the health remaning.
Use ruptute on a cyst when a marine is near and his vision gets covered with slime for a few seconds. Saves alien lives, and makes ambushes all the more deadly. This is especially important when you have a fade going in to attack and the marines have shotguns.
You shouldn't stop biting anyway, because this:

QUOTE (gio @ Nov 4 2012, 01:20 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

On the buildings you damage they only get a percentage back of the original cost in proportion to the health remaning.

The more you bite, the less res they get back. It's even possible to destroy something when, visually, it looks like it's been recycled already. I'd say there's about half a second after it disappears that it's still vulnerable. Maybe that's just lag compensation or something though.

You can place drifters around the map to detect near marines. This helps your team ambushing.

You can use enzyme cloud from a drifter. (Doubles attack speed but NOT energy regen!)

You can use rupture on the cysts, but the duration of vision impairment is very short. I don't know the numbers, but I think it is something like 1.5 or 2 seconds.

You can use infestation spikes aka bone wall, (need 2 hives) to trap fleeing marines for your aliens or delay marine advancement / rescue a fleeing onos etc.

You can use your cursor to detect enemies (looks like a black cloud) and tell your aliens where marines are moving, how many they are and to better coordinate ambushs. (A room has to be visited by an alien at least once per round, in order to see this black clouds.)

You can build shifts and use their hatch ability to focus your aliens on one part of the map. (Be careful with that! shift-eggs are always preferred over4 hive eggs. Even if a hive is under attack. If you build to many eggs, all your aliens will spawn around that shift. It's good for fast consecutive rushs, but can break your neck when marines are attacking on the other side of the map.)

First of all, can I ask about the cyst's rupture ability? What's the AOE? Is it the same as the entire circle you see when you select it? Does it hit jetpacking marines?
Also, can I further enquire about this black cloud thingie? I still don't understand it very well. The wiki says that the alien commander has this ability:
-----
Foresight
Foresight is a passive scouting ability for the Alien Commander. Wherever the commander points his cursor, an orange glow will follow as visual indication, which can also aid in seeing in darkness (see Power Node). Foresight allows the commander to see and hear the presence of Frontiersmen units and structures in previously explored areas by any Kharaa players or units. Enemy units and structures will appears dark clouds when the commander moves his cursor over the area.
-----
I tried it out with a friend and as the alien he doesn't see an orange glow, nor does he see anything when I right click (I see an exclamation mark). I understand the black cloud part, although what do you mean it has to be 'visited' at least once in a round? Does a cyst chain count towards this 'exploration' requirement for the black clouds? My friend is also under the impression that the black cloud appears when marines are on infestation or attacking your buildings only. Is that correct?
Edit: I have issues using the bonewall, notably it's very hard to dechiper whether I can or cannot lay the bonewall, and everytime it doesn't work I have to reclick the hotkey to try again... which makes it a little difficult to utilize.
An alien has to visit a room at least once in order to being able to see that dark cloud, when marines / buildings are there. This is only that you can't search the marine base at the beginning as alien com. After 1 minute, every room should be visited, and it doesn't matter anymore. You can just spot marines by moving your cursor where they are.
Don't know why bone wall doesn't work. You need infestation under it, thats it.
I can't say you something more about rupture. I forget to use it most times and it doesn't seem to make any difference in combat.
One thing I forgot was ink cloud from the shade. It makes marines in it absolutely blind AND more important cancels out scans in regards to ARCs. ARCs can't fire at scanned targets that are covered in the ink cloud.
You can distract marines with hallucinations.
You can teleport fully grown whips to any infested location. (I haven't yet seen a commander doing this. Dunno why)
I think it makes some sort of mechanical sound.

Because they prefer to use the extra res for onos and fade eggs.
