Anything that is up-to-date? Tutorials?
Just wondering what the current status of getting the game to work with wine is. Last thing i can find online is that someone got it to install and run, however I am having a bit of trouble emulating the scenario (mainly getting the DirectX stuff figured out).
Has any progress been made? Anyone currently running it using wine? Any tutorials out there or tips?
Thanks.

Going to try various Wine versions to see if it helps.
Edit: The screen flickers between black and the view. Seems like mouse input is not working in game, but cursor moves when in the menu.
Tested r_stats and I got ok framerate(40-70). Empty server though, so I'd expect it to get a bit lower with more action.
To sum up:
Sound: Ok
Graphics: not working
Menu: not working
mouse input: not working
keyboard input: working
Going to test more settings in wine.

Probably a Flash issue. Try the flashless menu mod.
The menu does not use Flash anymore.
Oops. You're right. I knew they had begun phasing out flash but for some reason a console command confused me.
Ive managed to make the graphics flickers almost go away by testing various settings in "playonlinux", but still haven't got mouse input to work. I'm doing a reinstall soon since my linux install is kind of bogged with too many display and window managers ive been testing(couldn't stand unity for long)....guess i'm going for a clean Xubuntu install since XFCE seems to be the best choice for me. Maybe my mouseinput issue will magically go away at the same time :p

The linux version could be the same. if not here are some instructions:
install DirectX 9, DirectX - modern (something like that) and Microsoft Visual c++ 2005 redistributable then follow the instructions suck as the HKEY_CURENT_USER things. It should work good luck.
