Siege Turrets

<div class="IPBDescription">... useless?</div>I've played pretty much non-stop since release (not counting my playtime since the original NS came out), and I have yet to see any commander make use of the siege turrets. In fact, When I was commanding, I found it a bit difficult to convince the turrets to do anything useful. The range was too short most times; I would have to pretty much drive them right up next to what I wanted to kill, which negates the "shoot through walls" benefit.

Does anyone find them particularly valuable? If so, when and how?

You need to scan an area to use them, then you can just place them behind a wall and have them shoot though it.

to my expreience, i would agree with what you said. seems using the ARC res spamming GLs is just way better.

and i would add by saying that the hits are not obvious. sometimes i just dunno if the sieges, ARCS are even hitting anything. there were some loud BOOM voice made by ns1 sieges...

This is true, but it just feel altogether useless. You have to upgrade the robotics, then take the time to build a few, then you have to get them on site, then you have to set them up where they can reach (not easy), then you have to scan continually and drop 5 res per shot because they only manage 1 each scan. It's vastly time consuming and by the time you get it all rolling you could have spent all that time and res on Exos and just march into the base guns blazing.
