For some reason my mic doesn't work in-game, it works with other games though :/
And yes, I press left Alt to speak and yes, I see the little icon whenever I press it, indicating that I actually press the button but no one can hear me

Go to the sounds control panel in windows and when you are viewing all the devices, set the device you wish to hear through as default and then restart NS2. NS2 uses only the device which is set as default
I had checked my Windows sound settings before, but it turns out my mic was set as "Default Communications Device" and some other mic entry was set as "Default Device". Strange, but I changed it to "Default Device" and now it works! Thanks!

Works in Steam, Mumble, Ventrilo, TS, Windows Recording Tool.
Does not work in Skype and NS2... No idea why. Been troubleshooting the Skype problem for hours.
