    Yea, I've been getting freezes and massive 'couldn't open file' error and physx error
    When I tried to nom on a marine, my game freezes...aaaaaaand I get shot..that's bull...

    Happened again, this time on a server with only 3 people on it after about 10 minutes. There was noticeable lag a few seconds before the freeze.
    Also that dinging noise when it wants me to perform the sliding action as Gorge made that noise every time I jumped, until I actually just did it to make it stop.

    My game froze for the first time today as a commander. I'm sorry I could not get any information (like r_stat/profile) since the game did not respond at all. All I heard was a audioloop of the marine machinegun.
    The process took 25% of the total available cpu power (what is unusual).

    Hey,
    my game keeps freezing after 1 - 1.5 hours of gametime with the message: Ns2.exe is not responding.
    I did not encounter the precaching bug, this is the only problem I have with the game so far.

    yea that "Error: Couldn't open file ''"
    Is highly illusive and we're having a really hard time reproducing it... even though its the only error i personally receive when i crash.
    Max has included a change that will make it easier to track and narrow down.

    So, I tried something different this time. I set the game to windowed mode and opened the task manager to the side. I wanted to see what the memory usage was like for the game or possibly any other services. The game pretty much froze as soon as my marine spawned. Memory for Ns2 was at about 1.3 Gb. I didn't see anything else change. I opened a browser and the game suddenly started working again. Memory usage didn't change. I clicked on the game and moved my character around a bit and suddenly got a Blue screen of death. So confused now as to whether that is related. I ran CCleaner, so my registry is fine. I'm starting to suspect that using an SSD is the root of this problem. This is all over my head.

    Its odd that I am running the game from my normal HDD and after the freezes I was thinking of running it from the SSD. Maybe it would not help then.
