Are There Any New Maps Comming?

Get to work you mappers
Just wondering what new maps are out now, or will be released shortly. I'm in the mood for some new blood in the NS maps department (although the originals are fantastic). I've peeked at NS world but its slower than... something really slow in reverse... whatever. I've got 11th hour by chromeangel, but unfortunately, I havent been able to play it on a server yet, as it looks good. I've seen some promising screenshots from NS_lost by greedo that look very, very nice.

So what has the mapping community got for me?

The name was a placeholder originally, but I haven't thought of anything better yet, so it will probably stay.

It's a bit light on the backstory.

Atomic mass, deep space exploration vessel is returning from a multi-decade mission, the 8 crew could not revived from hypersleep when the Krahaa bacterium was discovered on board. Atomic mass has been remotely parked in a 4000 day orbit since the descovery, awaitng cleansing by the frontiersmen.

Well, there is ns_europa by Plaguebearer, which got released recently. I'd also suggest you keep an eye on ns_origin and ns_strife. Having playtested them, I can only say that they're great.

Freestyler and I are currently on reworking ns_eniant after the suggestions from our PT. I hope we'll be able to finish the next beta within this year.

Ah I see Does it have anything to do with nuclear power? Cause the area and map name led me to believe so.. And I'm working on such a project right now Wouldn't want to have 2 maps on the same subject now.

I've picked up ns_europa recently (its not easy to get, not on nsWorld that i could find. Had to search forums, and even then Flayra was wondering where it was). I even got to play ns_europa, but I was shockingly bad when playing in a map I didn't know. It did look nice though and I look forward to spending some time with it.

Chrome you're an animal! Are you working on AtomicMass and 11thHour at the same time? I also saw another one at nsWorld with your name on it (ns_next?). I like the pic you included for AtomicMass, I think you've got a knack for creating landmarks in your maps, what ever that thing is pictured, and I think thats great.

Now if I could only find these babies in rotation on a server somewhere... (europa found)

I should have a playable beta version for closed playtests in a couple weeks, hopefully before the year ends. Then it shouldn't be too long after that before a public release. I've been a lot busier lately than I thought I would be.

I'm a 'newbie' who jumped into map making head first and am working on Upperside. It will be a ground based installation with a network of utility buildings, caged over outdoor areas and anything else I throw in.
It's a bit of a learning process, but who knows. I'm sure it will be, at least, playable when and if I finish.

When I say 'newbie' I mean I am new to the actual design, building and detailing of maps, as far as using worldcraft is concerned: peh, easy.

I must say, everything up until lighting the map is easy, lighting...ARGH! And using that particle system which never seems to 'do' anything although I got it to sporadically generate stupid looking smoke (I wanted rain in my outdoor areas).

Expect a map from me sometime, but not in the near future. These things take a *LONG* time to do. At least I have found myself spending hours and hours building a room which isn't even very deatiled, piddling with texturing and play testing each map area seems to eat time like nothing I have done before.

I abandoned Trantius myself in the hope someone else would do it.
