Problems that need work

Why is it that cloaked buildings aren't actually cloaked? The resemble more like an eerie ghost looking thing, so anyone who fiddles around with their graphics can easily see them.

Also why isn’t the armor of an exo much stronger? It seems strange that after 1 hit an onos does 100 damage but a skulk does 75.

Um, cloaked buildings look like "ghosts" to aliens so you can see that they are cloaked and still know what buildings they are...

Are you seeing ghost buildings as a marine? If so that is certainly a bug that I have never seen.

    I also see ghost life-forms and structures as a marine sometimes! I don't think it's a bug.

Onos can take a lot more hits from an Exo than a skulk, so that 100 per hit is far greater than a skulks 75. You have to factor in things like that.

As far as the cloaked buildings, yes they do appear as a ghost to aliens but you can fiddle with your settings or just have a good eye and spot them very easily as a marine. As for the armor for the exo, it's not that an onos can take more dmg than a skulk but if a marine has 100 life and no armor a skulk can take off 75 life with a bite. Since this is the case, why is the armor on the nano treated with the same kind of damage deffense as actaul life?

Pretty sure that shouldn't be the case. I've played on both lowest and highest settings and cloaked structures have always been completely invisible without so much as distortion. I've gone upgrade chamber hunting in Shaded hives a few times before, never seen any visual signs of cloaked structures.

Bloom seems to be the culprit. With it off, everything is completely invisible. With it on, things can be seen, though it can be somewhat difficult; you're likely to notice the movement more than anything.

I run bloom and haven't been able to see anything, not even in the beta. Can someone from the early beta confirm to me/us whether or not cloaked buildings are COMPLETELY invisible? I've always thought so, but whatever.

And the exo balance is fine. An onos will generally win if it gets close enough to get a hit. Skulks can be a problem to exos because they can run circles around them. A huge part of marines doing as much damage as possible before the alien gets near.

    They are slightly visible

...really? That seems a bit off. Being able to discern walking aliens slightly, sure, but shouldn't the buildings at least be properly invisible?

This post came after me as an alien commander watching a marine just run up to or jp to every shade there was and sg it down. We all called him a hacker, there was no scan but he istanaly knew where every shade was.

So why isn't cloaked meaning something you can't see? Cause right now it's not.

There are different damage types. For example, Light-type damage (Pistol, Mines, etc) needs 4 damage to shred one point of armor. Medium (Hydras, LMGs, Skulk Bite) are 2-1, and Heavy (Exo Minigun) is 1-1. There are also other types, like Flame (Extra damage to cysts), Puncture (+25% damage to Marines), etc.

Hmm. I've never as a marine been able to see buildings as a rine. Not doubting anyone (especially not the great Kouji_San!), but do I have really bad eyesight or something? Has it always been this way? I might have to re-evaluate my faith in my NS2 skills...

I tried to grab some pictures to post, but it's nearly impossible to see the buildings in the pictures, even knowing where they are. I'll have to look at getting some video recording software and put up a video somewhere.

I suppose that I should mention that I messed around with this on a private server with cheats on, in the off chance that that somehow affects the graphics (which I seriously doubt).

    ----

Found out that I had recording software and didn't even know it... VLC can record! It didn't pick up my mic, unfortunately, so I had to trim out some boring sections and that caused some brief glitches in the video.

    Anyway, video here.
