<div class="IPBDescription">...can be fun :)</div> It's 3 am, you are a marine, your comm sucks and Fades are trashing your base. Your team captured a hive but for some reason the phasegate leading to it doesn't work anymore. The splashes of acid rockets all around you, your teammates desperately trying to rush the incoming aliens... After you've (somewhat) successfully fended off another attack and you are reloading you see from the corner of your eyes an Onos running over your turrets and spinning around in circles in your base damaging every building there is and finally after much gunfire it crashes down on the ground... Marines screaming for med-packs & welders all around you, reports of several onos' incoming... You are gonna lose, but you are not going to make it any easier on them <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

Yup, that can be a lot of fun, assuming your entire sense of self-worth does not revolve around a computer game and you can enjoy just "playing" without worrying about your stats scores...grab that dropped grenade launcher, slip on some sunglasses and pull your best "clint eastwood " face..make 'em work for that win..( you all become better players in the process, surely?)
Unfortunately such players seem rare, and many will just hit F4 if it looks like they might not "win"...
Sad, yet true.
If you are going to lose, at least try and lose with style...go on, knife that onos! if it works, you will feel marginally better about the world for those brief few moments....
When I come hope after school and start playing, I play not to win, I play to take out aggression in a pool of green blood and a hail of bullet casings.

NS is the <b>only</b> game i've ever played (and boy have i played a lot) to even come close to tribes 2 in terms of making that indescribable feeling happen <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Granted, T2 and NS both give different feelings but they are both pretty incredible.

although Alien last stands are not as fun
Yeah, alien last stands tend to suck. As someone (approximately) said, "Marine last stands make you feel like you're in a science fiction movie. Alien last stands just feel like you're getting shot up a lot."
Aliens should be decisive, and strike. HARD. Aliens that spend 2 hours longer building DC's outside your base, aren't.
*Sigh*

I came to this mod from Action Quake2, and nothing feels better when you're siping on the roof, you know you have three opponents against you, and you are alone. Then you see one; splash, a headshot. You go down the ladders, shoot; miss, shoot; miss, then you got hit, and shoot again; chestshot, dead opponent. You find your sniper rifle out of ammo, throw it away, and find an m4. You go hunting the last one. You come upon him and both start shooting, most of the bullets misses, and then: empty clip! OMFG!!! You throw your gun away and pull a pistol; first shot straight to the head. And if that's a last round of a clanmatch, and you win by that round, nothin feels better!
