-lan false removed ? DEDI SERVER

hi there im trying to set up my server on windows 2008 but when i put -lan false in the launch options i get an error come up in the window saying invalid switch Lan.
my friends cant seem to join my game if i invite them while im on the server or nor can they see it in the server browser any help
i has ports forwarded to my dedibox ok and ns2 is allowed in my firewall.

    wondering this myself. My dedi server is also set automatically to lan mode somehow. how do I disable this?

    -lan has never actually done anything for the NS2 dedicated server and was removed a few builds ago. If you are running the server on port 27015, you will also need to open up 27016 for it to show up on the master server list.

    If you're referring to your server showing up on your in-game server browser with a suffix "(LAN)", it just indicates that this server is on your LAN, and not that the server is LAN-only.

    You should see both your server name with a (LAN) and without. If you only see the listing with (LAN), that means you have not forwarded your serverport+1 as mentioned by the almighty Max

    The correct ports are not open or are being blocked by something other than your router. Once its setup correctly, it should look something like this (from your computer):

    If other people can join then it sounds like its setup properly. There is a bug where some people don't see every server in the server browser. Try having your friend join the server through the connect command (connect ServerIP in console).
