Randomly locked threads

The threads about <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=122190&st=100&start=100" target="_blank">Alien balance</a>, <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=122043&st=160&start=160" target="_blank">Obscuring vision</a> and even the <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/forums/index.php?showtopic=122176&st=160&start=160" target="_blank">Official Build 224 News</a> thread have been locked for no apparent reason. What's going on?

    Just normal stuff for around here.

    Not really a complaint, just an observation, but these forums are probably the most moderated forums I've been too.


    edit: 2nd most! I forgot about <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/pyongyang" target="_blank">www.reddit.com/r/pyongyang</a> . It wins for most moderated.

    Well maybe they locked the 224 patch threads because 225 is out now. That's reasonable.

    Can't think why 'NS2 obsessed with obscuring vision' was locked.

    Judging by how ive seen these threads go due to the few elitist, confrontational, or rude forum members, I would say they were locked because the topic got derailed or it became a ridiculous and petty argument

    It wasn't de-railed from what i can see.

    Either it was a mod mistake, mod bias, or 5 days is now considered thread necro

    who knows. Its clear vision obstruction isn't getting tweaked anytime soon anyway with 1.0 and all the other post 1.0 features uwe want to get done.

    In ramping up for the NS2 release, a number of new mods have been added. Some may not be up to speed just yet. It is normal procedure to at least include a last-post so if a thread is unfairly locked or may still have merit, the mod can be contacted via PM to request a reversal; in a very few cases, when requested politely and discussed, unlocks HAVE been granted.

    If no mod is listed in the last post for direct contact, feel free to contact myself, Zaggy, Align, Mouse, Comprox, or one of the other mod/admin staff via PMs. Creating a thread about a locked thread will only end the same way as this one.
