<div class="IPBDescription">any tutorials?</div>I came back after not playing for 2 month, tried playing alien and i sucked, i got destroyed completly, i can't land any hits, i can't walljump to gain speed anymore, and i instantly die once a marine turns around. Playing skulk feels completly different. Are there any updated tuts to play a skulk properly?

- Never go alone 2v1, unless they suck badly XD . If it's unavoidable and there's a line of people, get in an ambush spot (ideally on the ceiling or in a vent) and wait for the last person, then come up behind him and start biting and dodging like crazy. You're probably gonna get pwned anyway, but you might land 1-2 bites :-) .
- Use cysts/buildings as distraction. If you're near a cyst chain or a RT, let the marine pull out his axe and start axing, and then attack him. Switching back to a gun is disorienting and takes time in which you can be biting.
- Listen for / time for reloads. Reloads mean marines can't shoot you :-) .
- Learn the "1-2 shot" against armor0 marines: 1 Parasite from an ambushing place or at a distance, then only 2 (good hit) bites are needed. When they get armor 1 and higher, don't waste your energy on parasites anymore. Use it on leap instead.
- Practice practice practice. If there's no choice but to approach down a corridor in plain sight, be as unpredictable as possible. Climb the ceiling, jump from the walls, jump in a spiral, leap at angles, etc. etc.
This might be a start ^
Wall jumping and general opping should increase your speed from 7 to around 10, you'll get used to it.
That is all.
Oh... also, don't hold your fire button. Learn to bite only when needed. It will give you a lot more control and fights will be much less chaotic.

I allways do this, but i feel like my main problem is that my bites never hit. Also i feel like a larger buffed bite cone with different damage doesnt really help, since you need to land like 10 hits to kill a marines with 25 damage. Marines allways outmanouver me even if i start hitting from behind, they turn around and get a much higher ttk.
Also, you should hardly ever be predictable, or move in a straight line. If you bite a marine, expect the marine to start jumping, strafing, turning, shooting at you. No good marine will just sit there for the other 2 bites (or 1) and they'll usually have a pretty good reaction time... so try to predict what they'll do and avoid it (e.g. by strafing/jumping to the side after the 2nd bite).
P.S. FPS also help insanely in the game. Are you getting at least 45 (ideally 60)? If not, you should be. OC your CPU/GPU and lower settings enough to achieve that. If you're already playing on lowest it's a sad situation... maybe upgrade if you can?
watch your map constantly and learn the choke points on a map, and also look for great ambush spots at choke pts where you will have them close enough to kill and they cant run too far without hitting obstacles. small corners, dark areas, etc.
try not to jump straight into their weapon as it makes it very easy to land hits without even aiming.
use the walls and ceilings to gain ground if you HAVE to advance.
never run at a marine with an lmg down a corridor unless you have numbers
learn to USE YOUR PARASITE. seriously, 1 para +2 bites = dead marine early. plus it gives the added advantage of tagging a marine so that other skulks see him. and... it deals damage...
use all the upgrades available to you and figure out which fits your play style. if you dont mind being somewhat slow but you find yourself in long drawn out attacks use adrenaline. if you like to move fast, get in and get out try cele. etc etc..
try to be as quiet as possible and always listen for the clank clank of marine footsteps. LISTEN to see if you hear more than one set of footsteps. if you hear more and you think youll need backup, para and call for backup. if you hear one and think you can take em then ambush or attack outright, depending on the situation of course. then again if youre in a choke pt you can always stall while other skulks sneak up from behind.
in other words be a backstabbing sneaky sob with teeth.
Once you have silence try to stay behind or above them and watch them spin around in panic.
Oh and max your horizontal view angle, it really helps. Also stick with your teammates, a bunch of skulks and a gorge all jumping around is pretty unkillable to less than 4 marines. Also also if you ever find yourself behind a marine in combat, go up. Up is the last place most people will look unless they saw you climbing up.
