The teams will probably come from different countries and will speak in their native languages. A team from Germany will not understand what a Finnish team are saying...though the Finns might understand the Germans.

I doubt there'll be any Australian tournaments before release. At the moment there are approximately 3 active clans. Though I did notice that there's a Team Australia representing in the Logitech tournament. No clue who's in that one though, I'm guessing it's a 'superclan'.

Awesomauce!
But beware of exertus, given their last interview you might want to tell them to play dressed
Amazing! Crazy to see NS2 heading for the bigtime! This is another step on the road to making NS2 the next major eSport. :D
Also, with regards to the setup in the studio... I imagine they could alter the setup for the tournament. Move the desks to opposite sides of the room, facing each other? Maybe add some loud music? Otherwise things could get awkward haha.
To all the people wondering about the sound and if the players will hear eachother; the players will most likely be using in-ear plugs for the actual audio and big pilot style earmuffs. If not that they'll use just the big pilot style earmuffs as headsets. These cancel out most of the sound in the room. Along with having game sounds and voicecomms to listen to it will be enough for sure.
Thats the set up they use for other games on ESL. If it works for quake duels and counter strike, it will work for NS2 as well :)
Not sure why everyone is so worried about the seating. It is standard eSport fare to seat teams right next to each other during tournaments, using a combination of inner-ear noise cancellation and over ear game sound. When players get up from a lot of tournaments, notice that they remove headphones, and then earphones. That's how they get away with awesome stage presentations :).
I guess you missed the league of legends fiasco. There was a big issue in regards to where the spectator video was playing - which was on a giant screen right behind them. Players were able to look out of the corner of their eye and see the minimap. :P Thats probably the only reason its being brought up so much
I'm looking for a new computer chair and figure I'd get something more sturdy and comfortable than my crappy ikea chair considering I'm in this thing for such long stretches.

Congratulations to the EU teams.
This is a huge achievement for NS2.
Maybe I'll pick up comp play after 1.0 again.
A step ahead!
