Please release NS2

Played the first one for months! I havent got acces to the NS2 beta, but my brothers does.
And it seems to me the game has all it needs for its release.
What I can tell from him playing is that gameplay rules, graphics look stunnin, no mayor bugs occur, team balance is like a scale with the correct weights added...
minor adjustments can be done in patches after the release, so just press that big green button that says: RELEASE.
Cause i'm going mental not being able to play, checking daily for updates hinting a release...

The people need Natural Selection damnit!!!!
So post here for a faster release and a huge WHOOAAH for the unknownworlds team!

    I think everyone should safely assume it will be on Halloween, the 10th anniversary of NS1 1.0 release. (October 31 for non-US people who don't know when Halloween is)

    If I were UW, that's what I'd do.

    Just be patient for 3 more weeks which will also give UW a chance to squeeze in some final polish and balance into the game.

    halloweene or not, it's been in development for so many years, a few more weeks don't matter imo. as UWE said: it's important to leave a good first impression on people, several reviews/ratings will be done for 1.0 as well (game magazines and such).

    I'm mostly interested in why they are not confirming the release date. The longer it goes, the more it looks like a halloween release and the less reason I see for not confirming it. I think many people have had enough of the no release dates followed by vague so-so release dates.

    Maybe there's some hype timing though. For example the NS2HD tournament being labeled 'The Guru of Beta' might have something in it.

    Well, they've already said it's gonna be in October, and it's also listed on Steam as October release, so ready or not it will be released by Halloween :-) .

    There's still a couple of non-gameplay mechanics missing before it can be released. Releasing it now would frustrate a good amount of players I'm sure.

    You must have acces to the beta :p
    you cant blame people who haven't wanting a faster release.

    True, I'm pretty sure NS2 will make a stunnishing impression whatsoever.

    In the meanwhile I'll just download NS1 again and play that to sattisfy my hunger, and keep my fingers crossed for a halloween release!

    UWE keep swinging balance around like a blindfolded kid trying to hit a pinata and messing with some features like blink for what most would agree are pretty poor reasons. I am not holding out a lot of hope that 1.0 is going to be a very balanced game.

    I've already given up on high hopes for release after they announced they would leave sentries in their current state. Which is not to say the game won't be enjoyable for your average FPS player on release day, or that it won't improve significantly post 1.0. It simply means that on release day, the game isn't going to be as great as I had wished or it could have possibly been in my opinion, and as soon as we get some full-house NS2C games I'll be sticking with that for the time being.

    Actually There's a major bug in the current build that makes the game freeze on downloading mods when trying to join a modded server for many people. The majority of servers are modded in some way. Meaning if it was released now the game would crash and burn. Just be patient, I've been waiting for NS2 for nearly five years, you can wait a little longer.

    Ok its feature finished (well, aparently, 'cording to uwe, most of us feel we need m04r tho) but the balance, the performance... well, i think this says enough.

    3 more weeks, is it really that long?

    If you are an NS1, then youve been waiting for a long, long time.

    I have and im in no rush, I avoided the beta because playing betas kill games for me, so no, i havent played it, but its coming out

    Let not release it as it is, needs balance issues working out and bugs need squashing. I have an idea, Lets wait untill they are ready and then hope its better then it is now (balance wise and bug fixes).

    You do know this holiday did not origintate in america right? and that a lot of the world participates in halloween, even though it is a ridiculus holiday, so I highly doubt you needed to inform us of the date.
