[GIF] How most of my one on one battles with skulks go.

Was watching Resident Evil Damnation and this early scene in the movie reminded me of being a marine with terrible aim.

I modified it to reflect my ability.

Hope I posted this in the right place. Haven't been around these forums much. Figured NS players might appreciate this.

    Haha that made me laugh. =D

    Although I would love it if most skulks just ran right at me. ;)

    I've failed so hard many times with skulks just running at me. That's why my tactic is to either use other players as bait or to be the bait. Once the alien starts biting their ankles I burst at their feet.

    If skulks looked like that and ran that fast, I'm pretty sure I'd miss too. ;-;

    Do you have any problems with your hardware, such as an unresponsive mouse or low FPS? A bad mouse is one that has a low polling rate or is known for things like negative acceleration. If not, I'd just keep practicing sticking the crosshairs on aliens. Many players tend to use a sensitivity that's a bit higher than optimal, but ultimately what's comfortable for you is best. Raw Input should be enabled in-game, Windows sensitivity should preferably be 6/11, Enhance pointer precision should be off, and you should be using the most optimal DPI for your mouse. Then you can tweak the in-game sensitivity with the console command "setsensitivity #" without quotation marks. Good twitch aim helps immensely when using shotties especially.

    I can offer more tips if you can point out something specific you're having trouble with. Skulks must die! :)

    I have a low framerate most of the time which makes it seem like most of my shots that should hit never actually hit.

    Oh no it's not hardware. I'm just not good at aiming. Been playing since NS1 and it seems my aim has gotten worse with time. I used to be a decent shot but 10 years on I've lost my mojo. It's ok I still have my moments of glory. I just focus more on being helpful to the team by staying grouped with other teammates and having a welder to kill laggy skulks and repair.

    I had to lower my resolution and turn every option off. I manage an average 22fps and in fights it'll drop maybe 5 or 6. Big bilebomb and GL spam fights tend to take a toll though.

    Even with all the options low/off this game still looks great to me. I love the atmosphere. The feeling of being a marine and defending an area when the power goes out gives me goosebumps every time.

    That, my friend, is what we call a "ground skulk". Never be a ground skulk!

    nah you should add 2 magazines worth of bullets going straight into the enemy and "-20" popping up for the damage counter. Accurate representation of NS2 hit registry.

    Thats exactly how a skulk should look and move like :D . btw, the animation shows a lack of +attack usage.
