Someone should change outline color or minimap colors. If you have both things visible, it's easy to confuse what is what and it's even harder to find where you are.

You got a point there and I would agree with you, if we would be talking about auto-aim or something similar. But hive sight was in NS1 and it isn't this kind of an über-advantage. It matches the aliens not only lore-wise, but also in the mechanic of being melee based against ranged marines. If the aliens had many ranged weapons, the hive sight could really be overpowered like a wallhack. (=watching a wall and killing the marine as soon as he turns around the corner) But this is not the case for aliens. They don't get such an advantage. It's just a helping tool for guessing when it would be best to start the ambush.
I don't see it as a dumbing-down from the typical shooter. I see it as new creative mechanic for a game where it fits. Something I haven't played with in the last 100 shooters already.
I still don't like it, I'd rather see the old simple version again (better looking of course). So, it seems to be a fifty-fifty on opinions in here, I guess it'll stay in then since they implemented it :(

Very valid point. Sometimes an outline far away is ambiguous at first glance, at least for me.
