Game freezes completely when shooting

Hey guys,
Had this problem already waaaaay back in the past. One of the reasons I stopped playing beta. Decided to come back now to give it another go, and the problem is still there.
I can play the game with settings on high, all the way. Same thing as before. But when the firing starts, the game goes to 1 fps, and doesn't come up before the action has stopped (i.e. no bullets are being fired and aliens aren't chewing my as... behind off). Have tried everything (atleast to my knowledge) mentioned here at the technical support-forum. Nothing has worked yet. Any hints/tips/solutions for this "little" problem of mine?
