New Marine Armor

<div class="IPBDescription">Deluxe Edition</div>to clarify, we are talking about this:
<img src="http://www.unknownworlds.com/cache/thumbnails/SpecialArmor_Render2_400x225.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" />

it's fine overall, but one thing that's seriously bugging me is the visor.

so i wonder, is this final or still open for some feedback?

also, is there a name for it? since the color is the same as the default armor, people might come up with many different names which can lead to confusion.

That visor is a direct reference to the NS1 marine armor, you better be careful of what bugs you around these parts of the woods.

The visor itself is nice. But attached to the helmet like this, it looks kinda awkward imo. It would be easier on the eye... if it were incorporated into the helmet, like it was in NS1. ;)

I agree with Neoken, the visor look strange like this, it would look better like he saids.

I was hoping for a bunny suit, or a turdsandwich outfit.. but it still looks cool with skin showing and such

What? people buying the game now get cooler armor?

I like the armor (But then again I still play NS1), also try not to complain too much it was free after all and something they didn't have to do. Plus I think you will be able to choose between default and deluxe in-game so if you don't like it then choose to use the default.

People who already bought the game get the cooler armor.

I hope with the Steam Workshop integration, we will be able to create own Armors and implement them in the game.

I would be happier with the old HA model available to switch to in the options ;) Looked way cooler than the Exo :P

Not that I am not grateful for the deluxe armor though ^^

TSA budget cuts. They can only afford enough nanites to partially attach the visor.
  • MrWhiteMrWhite Join Date: 2012-09-02 Member: 157313Members
It just looks like the standerd marine to me.
I wish they could of at least changed the color slightly or given it a camo pattern to make it stand out.

Black is much better, i doubt in game you will be able to tell diffrence between standerd and deluxe.

And i agree it should be full helmet with that visor.

The visor I agree looks really flimsy, which I think looks double-y bad since it conflicts with the rest of the armor seems to be trying to evoke a feeling of strength. Overall I'm not too impressed with the Deluxe armor, but the strength/tank style isn't something that I'm particularly drawn too. I normally prefer the ninja/stealth style.

Yeah but the NS2 visor had a meaty support.

Regardless, I'm loving that our beta marines aren't afraid to show a little skin. They know that armor is mostly for air conditioning anyway.

Yeah, it would look much better if the visor was a little bit more integrated with the helmet..but not a big deal.

I don't think it's as sexy as the black armour. I think I'll stick with that. I can hide better. :o

PLEASE make the deluxe armor black !

I think that would make it right
  • OhnojojoOhnojojo Join Date: 2011-08-01 Member: 113400Members
With the side-by-side comparison of NS1 and NS2 deluxe armor, it looks as though the Deluxe armor is a re-imagining of the NS1 armor.
The visor is the most obvious bit of inspiration taken from NS1 but the chest plate also resembles the NS1 marine armor. <3

I doubt that would ever happen. Black armor is for the people who risked their money long before it was ever clear on whether or not NS2 would ever materialize into an actual game. If you didn't experience the agony of the first alpha release, you shouldn't have black armor.

The visor also seems to me to be kind of a reference to the way actual Soldiers (and Marines) attach their night vision goggles to their kevlars.

TBH I barely even notice that the black armor marines look different, I don't really care about it either way. =x
