customizable marine outfits

Hello, here is my idea.

It would be great if it is possible to costomize the marine outfit a little bit, maybe some different colors are enough or some different equipment like helmet or armor.
Maybe some different Logos on the helmt or armor will be nice too, e.g. like on the full metall jacket movie cover.

    There has been talk about this, but nothing solid yet. Perhaps in the future there will be small customizations to the models.

    Don't expect big visual changes though, UWE tries to keep those to a minimum to maintain the immersion. Being able to choose - for instance - pink marines would pretty much destroy that. :)

    Yeah no big changes, i dont want to see pink or green marines. But it will be nice to recognize a friend not just from the small nick name, Left 4 Dead solved this problem in a good way, here you can pick one of different models, something like that will be nice.

    I think Cory did confirm at some point after the dust settles from the 1.0 release they wanted to put small things like the OP suggested in, decals, maybe some color variation to personalize your marine. There will also be the female marine! I think if we're lucky we might get minor visual customization for the alien side too.

    But don't expect it for a while :s

    I like that L4D inspired idea.
    Create 18 different marine models, each differing only in skin color and facial features with minor customizable decals.
    None of the customizations will affect gameplay of course. Only there to allow a player to easily distinguish between one marine and another.
    The individual models will be neat.
    Also, seeing that aliens are.... well aliens. I don't think they would need custom models.
    Maybe...
    Just throwing some fun ideas out there.
