so is anyone going to the <a href="http://www.gamescom.de/de/gamescom/home/index.php" target="_blank">Gamescom</a> this year?

I'll be there on the friday the 17th with some friends. Maybe we can get together. I'll usually hang out at the blizz booth and will of course visit our beloved UWE guys. :)

Maybe we can have a drink with either of them afterwards. :)

    He just may drink a good Pils. UWE, don't leave Germany without drinking a Pils-Beer. Narkoson is right about the Kölsch though. Watch the labels carefully ;)

    All the shops and snack points directly on the Gamescom sell only Kölsch as beer. Only in the Business Area you get normal Pils beer.

    Don't listen to those Prussians, Hugh! :P Don't drink Pils or Kölsch! Better have a nice cold Weißbier/Weizen. Trust me, I'm from Bavaria ;D

    I might come to Gamescom this year just because of UWE. Not 100% sure yet, though.

    Depends on the Situation, since i live in Hessen i drink normally only Apfelwein but when i drink beer most times it is a Weizen and the other times it is a Pils. Everything is better than a Kölsch!

    Would be cool to see more people of the team but i guess it will be "only" Hugh since it is close to the planned release time window of 1.0 and the costs of the flight and everything else won't be cheap.

    I would agree, but lets face it. Americans aren't familiar with the strong taste of german beer. Kölsch tastes like water, I think it will fit. ;)

    Haha yeah...

    Kölsch is actually pretty great BUT you have to drink it in a kölsche brauhaus, otherwise you'll ruin the kölsch experience.

    I was going to go but sadly I cannot get the time off work this time, due to the joys of a 5 week shutdown (TAR) which Ill be working 4 weeks of :(

    It's all about the situation! When its a very sunny day and you sitting outside and just relax, then you hae to drink a "Weizen". All other Situations are for a "Pils", like hanging in a club or meet some friends in a pub. Kölsch is never an option :-D. Two years ago the guys from ea pacific (sam bass, jason bender, aaron kaufman, Raj Joshi) are dying after a night drinking kölsch with us.

    Shaked hands with Hugh a few minutes ago and apparently missed the exo suit by another minute. He removed a picture of it the moment I approached the booth. Was really cool to meet him and looking forward to all the people visiting the booth. I really hope it will a blast for everyone.

    I notice in Hugh's day 1 video, he shows files copying on a computer.
    Files labeled like veil_floor01.dds!

    So calling it right now, Gamescom will show off the new/old ns2_veil map and I kinda bet we'll see it in 217 later tonight.
