Celerity and Charge, used properly, can catch jetpackers off guard in hallways and take them out.

Give Gorges a web that can trap jet packers and increase cost to 15, or one of the two.

Gorge webs or skulk focus, fade acid rockets etc.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

I would trade a kidney to see acid rocket return.

Yes...and if charge failt (what happend most time because u are stuck on every littel stone or cyst) u are screwed, because your movement speed is decreased for a few seconds. Onos mobility is like a grandmother.

The main issue here is that the onos ends up not being nearly worth the 75 res it costs to evolve to. Especially when it's countered by an item that costs 10 res. It ends up being more useful as a kind of meat shield to block the gorges that cost 10 res that do all the structure damage with bile bomb and as a distraction for the lerks to kill the JPers (which admittedly they are adept at doing. ive killed more JPers as a lerk than any other class).

it all depends on the room you pick, if you fight as an onos in a big room with alot of hangy ledges, how the heck do you expect to win? you have no ranged capabilities, they have flight and ranged.
If you pick thme up in a hallway however.

JP is a counter to Onos. I believe this is intentional. Fades and Lerks need better hitreg to properly kill them, but even in NS1 JPs in a large open room were incredibly hard to kill without Gorge Web or the Fade's Acid Rocket. Although mass Leap/Xenocide/Gas would work in a pinch too.

I agree JPs probably are a little too cheap for their effectiveness right now.

But we will have to look at balance again when Exos arrive. Onos in NS1 countered fairly well HAs with Devour, Stomp, and the ability to absorb all the HMG bullets. And since JPs are harder to aim properly pub games would go HA Train quite often and have a HA vs Onos war. Pros preferred JPs 'cause they were awesome and could aim. And JPs weren't stunned by the Stomp.

At this point, I'd say things are working as planned, although JPs probably could be bumped up to costing 15 PRes.

So much for saying "Dinner" outloud every time you would swallow one of them marines =(

But yes the Onos is the 'alien battering ram' smashing marine structures into junk! however with stomp you can easily take out marines that happen not to have JP's but the thing is this: The onos is NOT meant go on a killing spree with you screaming over the mic like any 'sane' person probably would trying to kill all the marines at their HQ after a beacon, just smash the powernode in their base(s) then worry about killing marines after that's done.

As of a proper counter to JP's that would be the fade (mainly) and the lerk (supposedly) along with the tier 2 abilities (blink and spikes) and of course the whips and hydras below the wanna-be-bobba fett' only waiting for them to run out of fuel Muhahahaha! ';..;'

PS: Don't forget to bring friends... Lonesome Oni' tend to die rather quickly on their own.

But a 10 res gorge does that just as well, perhaps even better.

Well obviously a gorgie with bilebomb would be even better (aoe along with DoT effect) but usually the marines are 'quick' to react on a gorgie in their base(s) and a gorgie don't last long even if it's just 1 marine.

But maybe they could add a lampoil upgrade for the gorgie for improved bellyslide, that way the gorgie could lead the Kharaa back to it's former glory just like the gorgie' ancestors did back in NS1..... it'll be glorious!

Thats not true. They can follow u in a small corridor and there is no much u can do, because u are still to slow to turn around and hunting them. I saw JPs following an onos accross the half map. U are screwed without support.

And hydras are no big help against jetpackers. 3 Hydras for each gorge and you have to pick where to place them. Around one of the hives? At the entrance of one of those? Or keep them close to yourself and use them at the front line? Whips? They are just annoying for jetpackers no real problem since you so much fuel and can land on so many safespots where whips can't be build or its just to expensive to cover each spot.
