Looks different from the previous mockup that seemed to heavily feature media, is that planned as a separate page or is it just an old mockup?

Oh wait, looks to be the new community section.

    i really like it.

just some minor detail which is bugging me:
<!--quoteo--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->Marines buy weapons at an Armory or build sentry turrets and siege cannons to assault the enemy.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
could use a "mobile" or "deployable" in front of siege cannons. otherwise, some people might think of ns1-style siege cannons.

Another note, the promo video should be updated to B215 or internal build with EXO. I don't think it's entirely clever to use a promo vid showing features not in game (like the grenade launcher rifle).

The site looks awesome, there is, however, quite a few errors with regards to a proper validation. But looks greait!

Still getting a white site on Firefox 14.0.1:

well the grenade launcher is not removed from the game, just made a stand-alone weapon. they can't just make a new trailer whenever some feature is eddited/added/removed, good trailers are quite some work.
but yea, it would be nice to have a new trailer once the EXO is revealed, because the game is feature complete for 1.0 then, right?

Hmm, just tried it under a new install of Firefox and it worked fine for me. I wonder what's happening there.

do you guys plan to implement everything from the current/old main site into this one? what you're showcasing now looks good and is something I'd link to a friend who's never heard of the game. I'm looking forward to more usability for the rest of us.

What did the old site do that the new one doesn't? I cannot think of a single thing.

i appear to have been confused then. i thought the site you're showing off now will be the replacement for <a href="http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/" target="_blank">http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/</a>.

Nope, that's getting an overhaul too, but it's a little further away (what with being more complex, and including entirely new forum software).

Did you guys ever decide on a good forum package? Last I heard you were looking at Xenforo. I've had a lot of great experiences with Vanilla, which is definitely a platform I'd look into if you guys haven't decided yet.

It looks really good, I missed some of the tutorial videos earlier, so it was nice to see those that you have put up.

Vanilla is the one we are currently looking most closely at; we've got a test forum set up and have imported the current forum's data into it. Obviously this isn't a final decision but Vanilla is looking like a good choice.

Good to hear! I had a blast writing some basic plugins and themeing Vanilla and I can't wait to see what you guys come up with for the new site.

Hmm I have the exact same issue as Uzguz here. My browser is latest version of chrome, but it does the same with IE (which has never been on your website) and Firefox. I deleted my cache and ctrl+f5ed a dozen times with no success.

No CSS nor images here. Maybe you cached them on a CDN?

My DSL provider is 'Free Iliad' in France. I'll give it another try tomorrow morning and let you know.

see if you can access the CSS file

    <a href="http://naturalselection2.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/themes/natural-selection/style.css?v=2" target="_blank">http://naturalselection2.wpengine.netdna-c...n/style.css?v=2</a>

btw, the black -> white flash when going to different forum pages on this website kills my eyes (bug has been reported several years ago in chrome)
  • UzguzUzguz Join Date: 2003-06-05 Member: 17016Members, Constellation
Yes, I can see the CSS file; the link to it in the page source also works. Why the browser doesn't then use that file when rendering the page, I have no idea. Clearing the cache does not help.

I visited the site from another computer at a different location today, though, and it worked there - but still no luck over here. All very strange.

    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="all" href="http://naturalselection2.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/themes/natural-selection/style.css?v=2" />

Actually, the CSS link points a 404 for me ( from French - Paris IP )

Edit : Actually, the whole domain naturalselection2.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com is out from here, domain doesn't exist. DNS problem here, it will be fixed by itself in the next 48 Hours.

It's back here, and it's cool! Was definitely a DNS issue. Good stuff guys!
