<div class="IPBDescription">my maps arent there???</div> i dl rcbots and followed instructions. It says extract to ns folder mod, did that, now when i click on ns icon and start a lan game my maps arent there but instead the original maps for halflife game are ther like boot, datacore etc. So how do I get ns maps loaded to play with my rcbots? <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='confused.gif'>

yeah! this is what happened to me!

it wasnt showing up in the custom game menu, and was just showing the hl maps, so i went to all the trouble of reinstalling ns, but the same thing happened again!

cheeseh do you know why this is?

I think this has not to with the bots.

Just start NS from the start menu or execute regular Halflife and activate NS from custom game.

The NS desktop shortcut is bugged.

yes this is not bots fault. some ns bug. i always start hl first and go custom game to create lan game.

I don't know why it is, it only seems to happen when using the shortcut icon to load it for some reason.

I actrivated ns from halflife but now the map list is just empty...arrrh i give up!!

Solution:

RCBOT will mess up your NS if you unpack it and run the install from the wrong folder. Be sure you create the folder as the readme says. If the install is run from the NS directory it messes things up. But fear not as if you run it properly it fixes the problem.

you have to extract it to half-life\rcbotns and run the install from there... not half-life\ns\rcbotns....

the installer does not install the dll or waypoint files for some reason. So i just did the install manually

This isnt the bots fault. Its a bugged icon, but fortunatley is very easy to fix.

1) Right click on your icon and choose <b>"Properties"</b>
2) Then select the <b>"Shortcut"</b> Tab

You'll notice several fields one of them will be the Start In field and it will be empty, this is the bug. You just simply have to enter your HL directory into the start in field and you should be good to go.

3) Enter your half-life folder directory into the <b>"Start In"</b> field
Example:
C:\Sierra\Half-Life

You should be set now, hope it helps (BTW thank the Tech Support forum for this).

ok this is what i did, i extracted the rcbot into my ns folder, so do i have to delete all those files that went in my ns folder, download rcbots again then before i ectract it make a rcbots folder in my halflife folder then go into that folder and install rcbots from there?

ok i finally got everything to work <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' valign='absmiddle' alt='biggrin.gif'> but just one question? why do i lag so much when i play from my own computer? myself and 5 bots ok but when i play like 10 and up my fps goes way down and gets choppy, my specs are pretty good p4 1.5 386mb ram geforce 2 40g hd. I have fps set at 50. I tried max and it gets worse. I play great with podbots for CS even with a full room with minimal lag and fps set at max. I'm stumped, if its an issue that cant be fixed yet then forget this post, if it isnt and im doing something wrong please post your info. and always thx.
