Hoo rah
I am not the longest playing ns2 player. I only have played 150 hours since I got it. In that short time I have never seen more than about 5 servers full. I just went to play and found 20+ servers full. Time to celebrate.

It's pretty awesome. Looks like we're heading to the glory days of NS1 and beyond.

I knew it would get big. Some people forget that even most NS1 fans don't know the pre orders exist yet, so it's amazing it was as populus as it was for an unreleased product with no steam exposure yet.

Just wait until it gets put on steam for sale, there will be hundreds of full servers.

It means some people are playing with a tickrate of 5 sadly, servers should really a have big red flag in the server list when they have low tickrate.

It's amazing how much attention ns2 got because of a 26 minute youtube video.

Yeah, it's very nice to see. Hopefully it won't cause a lot of bad publicity because of performance/gameplay problems.

There was a pretty sizable bump in the playercount after the onos reveal trailer/onos release. Its nice to have a good selection of populated servers to choose from.

    Pretty much.

I personally am holding off posting on all my gaming community sites till performance has improved.

Yeah I think it is a mistake to publicize the game in its current state.

It's not that bad. you see a huge label somewhere on the site saying "BETA". They know what beta means. I know what beta means.

As long as 1.0 looks and plays like the HD channel, everyone is happy.

Lol, 1000 posts, rather expensive Mig21 RC plane avatar.

    Still dissing UWE's product.

    Nothing nice to say?

Its not an RC plane first of all, you can use the weather station in the background for scale. Second I am not 'dissing' the game, I greatly enjoy NS2 but it is still not very well optimized, that is no secret. I have been following the work of these developers for a decade, some performance issues are not going to turn me off to the franchise but first impressions matter and the same can not be said about every new player that hears about NS for the first time. When the game is polished up and running smooth I would love to see every gaming publication featuring an article on NS2 but we have not reached that point yet.

Edit: Also it is not a Mig 21

I disagree completely, beta USED to mean beta.

Beta in 2012 means game demo. 99% of the time with massive studios, beta is merely a stress test for server hosting and backend infrastructure.

You know NS2 is a true beta cause you can see the development, the average person doesn't and assumes beta is simply what the game will be like on release.

To any Australians experiencing the constant client crashing on the monash servers, please note that the problem is suspected to be related to the server/where its hosted and not the game itself. Try playing on west coast servers if you want a stable experience albeit higher ping.

And yea, i think we reached full server capacity world wide already lol. As yuuki pointed out, not necessarily a good thing. +1 to red flags.

The 32 tick bug is also still out there so servers which arn't admined will most likely become unplayable relatively quickly causing alot of confusion and bad impressions for new comers :(.
