What Are The Stats On Redemption?

How often does it work?
I don't use redemption too often, and I realized that a large part of the reason why is that I really have no idea of how often I'll be redeemed. I know that with level 2 or 3, I'll have a better chance than with level 1, but how much?

Is it a base 30% chance, and then lvls 2 and 3 increase to 35% or 40%, or is it much higher, like starting at 30%, and the going to 60% and then 90% for levels 2 and 3, respectively?

Can anyone who has used redemption often enough to get a real feel for it answer this? Or perhaps one of the developers?

I'm just curious, and think I would be much more likely to use it if I had a vague idea of how much of a risk I was taking by selecting it.

Thanks,

Twilight

I am really guessing as to this but I was under the impression it had to do with how FAST it could yank you out of harms way and not as such the likelihood of it doing so.

    From the manual:

"The redemption ability does not appear to be one hundred percent certain. As an alien drops below a certain health limit, there seems to be an increasing chance that it will be redeemed. With each increased level of this evolution, the chance of redemption improves."

This wont help you figure out what percent chance you have at each level, but how it works is explained...

I have read the manual, and I too would love extact stats on Redempsion. Like does it consider time of damage, percent of health, etc. Or does it involve some sort of random number selection.

This is how I'm interpreting the above:

Ok, we have two statements here. One says that as an alien drops below a certain health limit, there is an increasing chance of being redeemed.

So, once you take damage which brings you below that health limit, it makes a redemption check. If you pass it, you get redeemed, otherwise nothing. Now everytime you take additional damage, you will still bebelow the limit, so you make another check each time, unless the damage kills outright. Plus, it says there is an increasing chance of you being redeemed, so the farther below the health limit you are when a check is made, the better the chance you get redeemed? This seems to be what it is saying.

Now for the second statement, which says each level of redemption increases your chances at being redeemed. I assume, then, that is another bonus to the chance to be redeemd, in addition to your chances going up the farther below the health limit you are. Maybe the limit changes with each level also?

I tried to analyze it logically, and this would make sense. How does it read to you? And would a playtester or developer with greater knowledge than mine (Read that as all of them... ) care to comment?

Again, I would just like to see redemption used more often, and I think it would be if we understood the specifics better, just as knowing that level 3 carapace pretty much doubles your life expectancy is more helpful than knowing that makes you harder to kill, with nothing more specific than that.

    Thanks,

Does anyone with a fair amount of Redemption experience have a guess at the base percentage for level 3 redemption to work? 50%? More? Less? I'm really in the dark on how effective this is...

Its diffucult to give a percentage because it really depends on how quickly the enemy brings your health down.

If they bring it down quicker than it takes the redemption to actually act, & continue firing on you, you die.

If they bring it down past the threshold (whatever it is) and redemption actually has time to activate, you'll be pulled/teleported back to the hive.

Basically what I think this is saying, & from my experience, with each level it takes less time for it to actually activate. The threshold may be the same, but it will realize you're about to die and pull you back quicker.
