or just part of the map....
on ns_nancy there is a vent right outside the marine spawn. Marines in that vent are invulernable from bite...is that a bug?

I heard that it was part of the map, cause skulks arent supposed to be able to bite in there, which makes no sense. If anything a marine wouldnt be able to draw his gun in there. Can someone inform me a lil more

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I think it is probably a hit-box issue. On the map with Feedwater, there's a corner by the double-resources which is a perfect spot for a marine to hide. I hit him 6 times as a fade before he died, and their comm was a complete idiot (so I'm assuming no upgrades). *shrug* It'll be an issue for a while. but until then... *bunny hop* I'm so leet!

it's a bug that applies to most vents. I hope they fix it soon, nothing more annoying than biting a marine 10 times in the chest before they even fire one bullet and still dying

all times when marines are crouched and under some structre, it is hard to kill them. Just aim down a little, act like a women and aim between the legs, no matter what the hitbox says, that will kill any man!

(Yes, just aim down, and it works much better).

ah, that. I've learned to shoot parasites, and to go for the groin. They aren't unbeatable, it's just their hitboxes are hard to find.

download a program called Halflife Model Viewer and you can view hit boxes on any model, search that on yahoo and you find it under cumblasoft or somethin, ttyl

trust me, it's in most vents. that really wide one outside port engine room hive on the map that also has unnamed and subspace array is a tough one, but I still manage to get a few kills in there at times. or if I come up behind somebody who's kind of hanging out the edge of a high up vent I can get them sometimes. but if I meed them inside a normal narrow vent face to face, it doesn't matter how much I bite before they fire, I NEVER kill them

Actually, as far as I could tell from modelviewer, the hitboxes are fine. Isn't it a serverside error? Bah, I dunno

I believe the issue is NOT hitbox. I think the problem is that the 'bitebox' of the skulks attack is actually above the skulks head, so that bites are more consistent on marines. IE the skulk bites aiming at ankles, but the detection of a hit says the hit occurs at waist level. Therefore, when marines are in vents, they are below this 'bitebox'. but aiming down lowers the box, allowing it to intersect the crouched marine, resulting in a hit.
