Alien Spawning bugged

Are devs aware of the alien spawn bug. I figured it would be fixed in a hotfix, but it has been awhile now.

If you're not, sometimes players get bugged as aliens and can't spawn. Even if there are tons of eggs and no one else on team is dead.

It has only been an issue in 207 as far as I can tell. So possibly it is related to the change in alien spawn mechanics.

It's a reported bug where if the hive you are spawning at dies before you spawn, you are unable to spawn at another one. It's being fixed.

In a game I played yesterday, aliens finished the game with 4 hives after 40 minutes of play, never losing one, yet more and more people began to experience this bug as the game progressed. I don't think I've ever seen it happen early game, which makes me think it might be an egg problem. Since I don't really know how the system works, it would just be a shot in the dark, but; if the "decoy eggs" can't spawn aliens, and over time too many decoy eggs spawn, could they perhaps make the spawn system go into an indefinite loop looking for a valid location to place a non decoy egg?

Again, just a shot in the dark, I'm sure it will be fixed soon.

If anyone has any reproducing steps for this, it would be of great help to us!
As I myself have experienced this bug w/o a hive dying as well now..
(we previously thought it was related to hive dying since that was all we could reproduce)

    Thanks

Sounds like something to do with too many eggs rather than hives. What might happen is an egg suddenly becomes "null" for whatever reason, then the game loops into the null egg. The reason it happens to everyone is the way the game might work is that it prioritizes eggs and when the "null" egg gets to the highest priority it contains everyone's spawn thus creating the bug. That's what I think might be.

Does it happen to everyone? The games I've been in, only a few people have complained about it happening, while nobody else has had the problem. Either that or the others are just remedying the problem themselves without talking about it.

Anyway, I personally have never experienced this problem, even though I've played a lot of aliens this build. I was thinking, maybe those people who have never encountered it can think of things which they do which they think few others do. In my case, I never go fade.

There's been cases where it happens to a large majority of players and where it happens in isolated incidents of one player. The reason it might not happen to everyone is because of the "wave" spawning system that puts players spawning together. There might be a certain time frame for this to happen, and those players died in the time frame and thus were bugged. So maybe it's not in the single egg idea but rather an entire wave is "nulled".

I have seen it happen not linked to a hive death, there is obviously another issue or the hive was not truly the cause just one of the possible triggers.

It seems to be random from what I have seen, I have been 1 of 2 players it was impacting in one game..other times I have only watched it happen to others and been impact free myself
I have sat and watched players spawn again and again whilst I sit there wiating for my count down timer to start, tried re-killing myself in console (only resulted in an additional death...did not restart timer).
Only way I found around it is to go into the RR and forfeit any res you had. However the bug would come up every second or third death needing me to go back to RR and forfeit my res :(.

I had not evolved at all to higher life forms and had 50+ res bother times it has happened to me but as its only twice I would not think its a great yard stick as its not been consistent in all games.

Just had a long game on Skulkrush servers where this affected the alien side.

I got the countdown to spawn, but then got stuck with the "waiting to spawn" message. Could see other aliens spawning, and I waited for a couple of spawn cycles, but never managed to spawn. Had to RR & rejoin to spawn, losing all the pres. Disconnecting & reconnecting didn't help - still had bug.

Several aliens were seeing the problem..

The spawn-bug was pretty random & seemed to appear in waves - I couldn't spawn at all for 10 mins or so, & then it was fine for a while, & then got spawn-bugged again.

It was noticeable that the server was crawling - loads of turrets & massive arc trains. Maybe lag is a factor.
