Natural Selection 2 really need to be natural

<div class="IPBDescription">nature</div>
I always imagine how it would look like if we can see natural forest/jungle theme on Natural Selection 2.

Just like movie Avatar, it would fit perfectly. Lerks flying over the jungle, skulks climbing the trees, and an oni suddenly appearing behind a big leaf.

Rocks look also fantastic, but i really love to see those natural plant models on the game. Think about Natural Selection 2 on the theme Crysis's forest.

I dunno why i am suddenly thinking so asthetically about this game, but yeah, just simply, it would look fantastic :)

Natural environments are notoriously hard to pull off.

Natural Selection was heavily influenced by the Alien films.

Maybe you could make a map or two like this, but this post seems to belong in the mapping section.

This is really more of a map idea sort of deal. I think we're trying to get more "extraterrestrial" maps pushed at the moment, or at least that seems the theme with the 3 current maps. Maybe you should pitch some ideas to a mapper

I assume you're talking about ns_origin. That was a great map. Mr. Cory Strader keeps saying that they are going to be releasing a "biolab" like texture and model set, but I'm not sure if I should continue to believe his lies. Anyway, I'm still looking forward to it.

It'll be after release, he's said (many times).

While a jungle map would surely look great, how would it play?

I think dynamic infestation may really put the natural in natural selection 2, no worries.

heavily favor aliens of course. at least we'd be able to reenact the camp/sentry scene from the movie Congo.

Couldn't agree with you more Classic319! Our post V1.0 art set, BioDome, features alot of 'natural' stuff, and will be a very different look to the existing artsets. Docking may also feature a small amount of natural stuff, but don't hold me to it!

Stuff like this could possibly become the future for UWE if ns2 is a success.

I Imagine larger maps scaling out like battlefield 1942 and stuff, and i am still talking about marines vs aliens here. Possibly a world of ns :D
I mean if WoW could pull it off, then anyone can right?

With all seriousness tho ill sure ill be dead before it happens.
