How To Prevent A Bug.

<div class="IPBDescription">Turret Factory</div> First, I'd like to say I know this is a bug and that YOU know this is a bug, and that it has been posted on the bug forums. I am aware that it's being worked on for the next patch. In other words, please don't reply saying "Go to the bug forum for this, we know it's a bug" etc...

My question is simply this: Is there a way to prevent the bug from occuring right NOW? Is there a specific way you can place a turret factory that will prevent the "upgrade turret factory" bug from occuring?

I *have* done a search on this and found many people giving suggestions on how to fix it. Some say that you have to tell your marines to press 'e' on the turret factory. Tried that, didn't work. Others say that you need to change commanders, and let the other commander try it. Tried that, didn't work. Some others say that you need to recycle the turret that becomes selected when you try selecting the turret factory. Tried that, didn't work.

Any confirmed way to momentarily fix this (until the next patch is out)?

There are 2 ways to get past this bug that I know of.
    1) When you CAN upgrade it but it doesn't work after, then "rebuild" it (hold use key)
    2) When you can't, it sometimes works to recycle all the turrets in the area, then upgrade it. (Yes, this is a pain.)

I read something yesterday, tried it and it works: if you place the TF as close to a resource vent as possible (build the extractor first) you will still be able to upgrade it.

This works ... i placed 2 TFs in eclipse in spots that usually aren't upgradable, but i put the TF on the vent and i could still upgrade it.

A few days ago I was in a game on Eclipse and I couldn't upgrade the TF we had inside the Eclipse Command Hive. Our resources were coming in fast, so I said 'screw it' and built a second TF. I could not upgrade that one either. After that, I asked someone to get in the chair and try, and fortunatly they were able to upgrade the original TF.

For me, the problem was that when I selected the TF, the 'Upgrade' icon was missing, the recycle icon was there, but no upgrade option.
