<div class="IPBDescription">Useless? Awesome? What?</div>Please explain to me how to use Goo Wall effectively.

Marines weapons are all ranged (even a shotgun marine has a pistol).

Well in the last build I put goo walls around resource towers which means marines have to spend longer taking down the RTs.

I put them around crags, over cysts, made clog doughnuts in doorways so only aliens could get through easily.

So if you think of them as attachable armour plating, or movement obstacles, they can work.

I use them to block LOS issues that mappers have missed. Making sure I protect hives etc at range :)

I also use them to slow marines down, so my hydras can attack them :)

Geeze, how long does that take per RT? and for all that time and effort spent a marine only has to destroy what, two of them to be able to fit through a gap and reach the RT? so you delay them by 10~ seconds for spending 3 minutes or however long it took building Clogs all around it?
If you think that's worth it then good for you but they really need to improve the speed at which you can drop Clogs imho, it's clunky and slow. They should probably be bigger aswell so you don't need to use as many to clog an area.

I've never seen used clogs in clan match, or used efficiently in public game. Maybe it's possible to do something useful with them, I don't know.

Should not require augmentation at all to be honest. Give the gorge some proper combat abilities at 2nd and 3rd hive, or a REAL third structure.

They way all gorge structures are placed needs to be streamlined.

Especially the unattractive menu that comes up in the middle of the screen with large icons showing what you can chose.

It feels like a computer interface, when it should feel more alienesque.

They fixed a similar problem with the alien commander who had to build and move drifters around to place structures. I'm sure there's a similar way to smooth out the gorge experience.

Pretty useless, only useful if you want to block gl fire a bit.

And the time it takes to do something is way too long anyway.

You can block off an area for a small amount of time if you place them intelligently. However, they are pretty damn useless with how fast they can die and how few of them you need to destroy and how long it takes for a gorge to place an effective one. The limit should be more like 15 to 20 if we're going to not have the build limit raised at all. Also shouldn't be connected to augmentation.

Well after building ###### offline with clogs, I can build you a house in 15s?

Clogs are great if you use em right. And if you build something 10times at the sameplace you won't need alot of time to rebuild it again.

The only thing that clogs needs is, that skulks and lerks can stick on it.

Would be nice if goo walls were more like a gelatinous substance that would let Aliens run through, but be like molasses to Marines (think: webbing from NS1).

I like this idea, maybe even if a marine tries to walk through it he gets stuck in it?

    Like the old GooWall prototype?

    <center><object width="450" height="356"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0sI7XX34fMU"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0sI7XX34fMU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="450" height="356"></embed></object></center>

And yeah this goowall slowed marines down if they touched it (very slow) but aliens could move trough.

I like how you place the new goo wall, but I don't like the predefined nature of the prototype in your video. I do like the actual mechanics of the slow however.

I've been wondering, but can we actually heal Clogs (no health indication at all)?

I like where this is going... maybe an exploding goo pile that slows down marines. Would have to be slightly less noticeable though to work effectively.

I know I'm dumb, but having gone gorge a few times since clogs came out, I've not been able to place them at all... what am I doing wrong?

^- Check if there's no infestation around where you want to place em.

If you can manage with the 10 goo limit you can make sculptures. I personally prefer making arches to block marines as it prevents marines with JP from moving through in small corridors. You can also use them as stairs, though no map has any real useful place to hide onos via goo stairs atm afaik.

has anyone tried putting like, crag farms behind goo walls now in order to keep them alive indefinitely?
