I'll tell you right now the main reason why 1.04 is coming out without even being told by anyone. It's the new 'alien/gun exploit'. Heh. It's more of a gun exploit.

I was on a server last night (as an admin) chasing a marine as a skulk, and he was running so fast I couldn't catch him. I instantly knew something was up. Then someone on the other team started shouting about the person being a hacker, etc etc. They wanted me to ban him. Since I haven't heard anything about this, I just figured it was a glitch ahnd had him reconnect.

Question, does this only occur malaciously, or can it pop up at random?

I think there's a bug where a player can somehow be in readyroom mode whilst in the actual map, with the interesting side effect of also being extremely fast. If that's what this is, then there's no need to worry as they can't attack and can't be harmed.

There is now a bug where you can change into marine form, use marine guns and still be on the alien team. If you (or Flayra) needs any info, just ring me, I tested it extensivly with Greedo.

yes...I've seen it pop up at Romland NS several times in the last 2 days....is this an intentional exploit by a player or is it possible for it to happen "by accident".

it can only happen when a player uses a certain command as an alien..can't happen by accident

yeah, I had a player join last night and do that crap. One of my regulars reported it to me so I warned him. A few maps later he said "can I do my lil exploit thingy for just a minute?" I told him no and he said "why not?" I said for obvious reasons. He did it anyway so he got banned lol.. what a moron.

i know how this exploit is done, because the alien team were having a go at their teammate who was using it only yesterday..a certain "ax-man" to be precise....

it cannot be done by accident...as the command to activate it has to be typed in deliberately (also, command only works on alien team)

i would tell you how its done, but it would only get edited by the forum admins...you dont need 14 hundred lines of coding or scripting...in fact its a command in NS itself..dont know why its there to be honest.
