Interview with Hugh and an Article on NS2.
I thought the community would be interested, so here it goes.
I work for GatherYourParty, and to begin my series of articles I deemed NS2 to be the game to start it all.

First of all here are the links:
State of the game: Natural Selection 2
Interview: Unknown Worlds Entertainment

Offer your thoughts and criticisms if you wish, I'd love to hear it.
I'm very interested in what you as a community have to say.

QUOTE

NS2 is effectively a mod for our new hyper-moddable Spark engine, and we believe that by being open, the community could very well create a better game on Spark than we ever could.

I wouldn't call NS2 a mod[ification] of the Spark engine. A game is built on top of an engine.
For example, NS is a mod of the game Half-Life, but it doesn't modify the GoldSrc engine.

Yeah, NS2 is a Spark mod like L4D is a Source mod. Namely that it isn't, as far as I can tell.

Love your article. It is always cool to see a NS1 savvy gamer's opinion on NS2 as it is now. You were very fair and i believed it was your opinion and not a typical "sunshine and rainbows" article.

    Thanks for the compliment!
GYP is focused on fair reviews and that's what I tried to give.

There's a large split within the NS1 community and I tried to include opinions from both sides.
Some love the new direction, some despise it with a passion.
