Mini-Cysts

Let Them Evolve
So I'm sure everyone is happy with mini-cysts being resource-free now, but I know a lot of people are not happy with them disappearing when they're part of the cyst chain.
My suggestion is to give them a 2-3 minute period where they mature and at the end of the maturation have them become permanent fully grown cysts that are no longer connected to the Gorge. This would remove the issue of disconnected cyst chains, and the maturation period would prevent Gorges from spamming cysts.

If you want your cyst chain to last, buff up your mini-cyst chains with actual ones. If you want it to be disposable, just throw the little guys out there and enjoy not having to worry about them. Gorges are a supplement for the commander, not a substitute.

Gorges being a supplement is part of a bigger problem plaguing the game right now, but that's on an entirely different matter.
Fact is most of the important cyst expansion happens early. Gorges have a small limit on the number of mini-cysts they can drop combined with those mini-cysts already having a shorter range for connecting the cyst chain. At best if a Gorge dropped all 5 of their mini-cysts (thus delaying them the ability to drop Hydras in their place of choice) they might save the commander 2 or 3 cysts. Also note that the commander can drop those cysts far faster and with far more efficiency than Gorges (who can't see the limit of the cyst chain without fooling around a bit).
I really can't see Gorges dropping mini-cysts becoming the main source of early cyst expansion. Mostly what this would help is if Gorges have expanded off to the side of the cyst chain and then that offers the commander the option to later in the game expand upon that expansion. When that happens right now (build 206) is the commander doesn't really know if those were their cysts or if a Gorge dropped them. Suddenly later in the game the same Gorge had to drop multiple cysts elsewhere and the cyst chain ends up with a large gap in it.
This idea would allow Gorges to supplement the cyst chain off in a direction they initially required for Hydras, without really affecting Alien early-game Alien expansion (due to limit of mini-cysts and time limit before the Gorge can be freed of the mini-cyst), as well as offer a solution to cyst chains being randomly and accidentally broken.
I also thought it'd be interesting if, when damaged, Hydras spawned individual hydra heads nearby that shot it's own projectile. The more "combat experience" a Hydra has, the more heads it would have. This is probably not entirely on topic, however.
This would be my preferred solution. I think it makes sense that any permanent cyst should cost TRes.
Misjudged it to be General Discussion, don't want to rain down on your suggestion.
This!
or give the AC the ability to upgrade gorge cysts for 1 res to default cysts.
