Empty server list

Ok this is doing my ###### in.

A week ago I lost the server list, so went off to play something else.

Came back today and its still empty. Is there a way to fix this?

Previously it just fixed itself when I closed the game and came back later, but not this time.

This is typically an issue with Steam. Usually if you just wait a while they will show up. If not, you can go to here: http://play4dead.com/ns2/ and select the servers at the top. This will show you the server addresses. you can then open the console (~) and type "connect xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:27015" where the "xxx..." part is the IP address shown.

It is a Steam update error. Verifying the integrity of my game cache fixed this for me. You can do this via the game 'Properties' menu in the Steam Library.

I got this problem after an update... Fixed it by deleting the local game content and redownloading the whole thing. I do this as standard now and not had the problem since. I expect it is caused by dodgy upgrades (although am well aware I could be wrong).
