The ingame FPS tanks like crazy, while recording with XSplit at the same res as Fraps (720p). Of course Fraps has a much cleared picture due to higher bitrate and less compression. Heh streaming that quality across the net would be something indeed :P.

I just find it odd that XSplit tanks my ingame FPS, where Fraps keeps it usually fairly stable and has to write much more data to the HDD. Or is the XSplit encoding just ######slapping my CPU, I'm guessing this is not the case though, with just 5-15% CPU usage...

XSplit is in beta and is still improving/sorting itself out. It has been out for less than a year...
FRAPS has been around since 2004 or less, they have had plenty of time to figure out what they are doing.

Technically FRAPS is doing it incorrect seeing as you can record equal, if not better, quality using the H.264 codec with the .mp4 file format. Reducing the size of the FRAPS sections MASSIVELY.

The only gripe I have with XSplit is it recording in .FLV files with a codec that Adobe Premiere/Media Encoder does not recognize/support.

Also setting the correct mic input in XSplit.
Never had to use Stereo Mix for any streaming program I've used so far.

Heh, I've got two soundcards. Where the Main one is also the default one for everything and the secondary is mostly using programs that can actually set up a different soundcard ... TeamSpeak, Audacity, Virtual Dubb and such. Heck even Steam Voice can do this :P I would love to see this option in XSplit, it's a pretty awesome program... Lacking sound for me now makes me a sad Gorge, otherwise I would already be doing some Livestreaming commentaries :( @ <720p sadly...

I'm guessing they don't want the older PC's having trouble. An i5 or i7 is probably able to encode into .264 in realtime. I'm not so sure about the older Quads or C2D's :P

Might be an awesome thing to have for beastly rigs as an extra option though!

Not a stream, but finally starting to be able to fraps some NS2 gameplay since performance has been getting better. So prob will be making some gameplay movies. Uploaded 2 yesterday on youtube. Another is marine gameplay on mineshaft including whole game about and another is about gorge bilebomb vent attack. My ingame nick is Synomi btw.

Can be found here: http://youtu.be/iGUMYlLd6Uc (marine gameplay)
and here: http://youtu.be/cjZXAn6m4xU (gorge)

Ofc the fps is still bit hindering while recording, but able to play somewhat decent.

It seems that no one has been streaming lately or if they have they haven't been posting in this thread. To rectify this I will be streaming for the next couple hours! Watch me chomp some face at http://www.twitch.tv/auzilla

Hello,

months ago i've created my own Livestream-Channel for Battlefield 3, Left 4 Dead 2 and other games.
Today i got allready ~10 hours of Natural Selection 2 Gameplay in my libary and it would make me happy and give me some motivation to stream more, when i got some more watchers.

http://www.livestream.com/Lyeaux

When the stream is offline, you can allways watch the latest games.
Enjoy and give me a "Like" > Facebook.
Thanks! :)
