Power Nodes and Power Packs

As I was reading the thread "Powerpacks returning in 204 " in the general section of NS2. An idea came to mind.
Why not make the Power Nodes power just the RTS and the lighting within the room.
And make the Power Packs act like Pylons in StarCraft. This way every building in the room does not have to rely
on a single power source. It will prevent quick ending games when aliens focus attack on the Power node of the main base.
Instead of a large radius of the previous Power Packs, make it a smaller radius. Make it so you have to build structures within the
radius of the Power Packs. So if the Power Packs goes down so does the power to structures within the radius.
What do you think of this idea making the Marine more like Protoss? (lol)
This excludes the Command Station.**

This new implementation will only be able to power one structure to start up a forward PG or base.

Therefore, just rebalance it by reducing the radius, increasing the cost or reducing the health/armor.
Power Packs will be an additional building costs for the Marines so I think it balances it out.
Power Packs will become the main power supply not the node like in the previous versions.
This can be an advantages for the aliens since the Marines will not be able to place sentries anywhere without the addition of a
Power Pack.
You can even limit the "# of structures" that can be powered by a single Power Pack.
Example:

(Ignore the fact that the Summit RT is misplaced.
