Thank you so much moultano (along with everyone else that has helped promote us!). If you feel like steering clear incorrect comments about the game (nicely of course), that is always appreciated.
Wow!

It would certainly be a nice way to respond to the massive reddit response so far (which is almost all positive so far!)
Also for any fellow redditors who aren't already subscribed come join us in /r/ns2: http://www.reddit.com/r/ns2
I posted an "official" post in the main thread but it's waaay at the bottom (comment #900 or so) and I'm not sure if anyone will ever see it.
You can either just post and introduce yourself and answer stuff or PM one of the mods and get them to confirm you are who you say you are. If you look through they get everything from random people with interesting jobs through to well known 'celebs' taking part (recently they had Neil degrasse Tyson doing an AMA, and tomorrow Tim Schafer is doing one too).
If you read the bit in the right hand side of the page it should explain who to contact and how to set one up.

Ask Me Anything.
Just a general question thread. Sometimes mods ask for proof to verify you are who you say you are.
If you link the reddit AMA thread, we could pour on the upvotes to bump it up so more people see it.
Woody Harrelson I think was the one who did that, amusingly Tim Schafer tweeted earlier about his AMA being only about Woodys film he was promoting \o/

I have a question for Flayra, why was my post from this thread removed when all i did was ask a simple question about server downloads?
Very odd...

Nothing odd about it, if it indeed got removed. It was an off-topic question that should have it's own thread :)

Definitely saw the pax east related stuff.
Hopefully you can give some official details on the news page a few weeks before the event. Regarding the availability of potential promo dlc and the off chance there could be beta keys being given out.
First gaming convention I could be going to so I'm excited. Also in the neighborhood for the anime boston going on at the exact same time. heh
So I don't like the submission title that is bordering on dishonesty. I'm all for promoting the game and I hope you guys sell a ton of copies, but Moultano pretending that he's just discovered an indie game and is pleasantly surprised by its quality with a title like "This is an indie game. O_O" is pretty slimy in my opinion.

That's reddit for you. Wouldn't succeed without an eye catching title.
Well my opinion of uwe just dropped a little, theres no good reason to remove a simple question when its getting ignored elsewhere, i made a thread already, if they ignore my question there or miss the post im just trying to bring it to their attention, my post wasn't going to derail the thread, it was poorly handled, how am i suppose to know whats going on when you delete it?
That's exactly my point. The site is already filled to the brim with attention seeking imbeciles, there's no reason to join their ranks.
If you're making submissions or posts with the express purpose of promoting this game, consider full disclosure instead of a duplicitous title just to draw attention.
This should apply to long-time community members as well as developers.

If I didn't already know about it and was seeing that trailer for the first time, that is honestly what my reaction would be. It helps to put yourself in the shoes of your average redditor a bit. Its not like I was misrepresenting anything about it, just trying to relate to people who haven't been loving this game for the entirety of their adult lives like I have. :-)
Thanks for proving my point.
It's dishonest to shill in online forums and websites. This is why no one likes undisclosed employees posting reviews and recommendations. Obviously, this is not as bad as Moultano is not a paid member of the design team, but he does have a vested interest in promoting the game regardless being a hardcore fan, playtester and mapmaker. So again, this feigned surprised discovery is not necessary, just be honest and people will appreciate the game regardless.
But hey, it's a practiced advertising technique so I'm sure it's completely ethical. It's not a big deal, but I absolutely despise this sort of dishonesty.
My only vested interest is that I love the game and I want as many other people to love it as I do. That's the same reason anybody submits anything to reddit. I made the title what I thought would make people most likely to click, after that it's on its own merits to be upvoted or not.
I would love to have a reddit where successful submissions all have a dry paragraph summary as the title, but that isn't reddit.

I don't like such questionable advertising either, i understand why he did it though, reddit responds to that sort of title much more than they would like to admit.

quit being so melodramatic, if people didn't share the sentiment it would have been buried instead of front page with more than a hundred thousand views. it's not like he titled it "bug free complete and amazingly optimized indie game", now that would have been dishonest
Because the only two options we have available are:
1. Post a dry paragraph summary as a submission title.
OR
2. Be a 10+ year member of the community and construct a title that makes it seem like you just discovered the game.
Nah, no middle ground in there which allows for an eye catching title AND honesty. By the way, you have a 29 day old submission promoting the same video and it had a similar title.
Maybe your bias won't allow you to see it, but you are basically shilling for Unknown Worlds.

Hahaha, good one. You must not be familiar with reddit, where surely the best, most substantial content makes it to the front page, right? Also, I knew of Moultano so I was in a position to call him out on it.
Minecraft would not have been as successful as it is if it weren't for the constant hated viral advertising on 4chan and plug by valve because of the tf2 map.
Even if some people hated it, more people saw it and it became the success it was today.
I'm not doubting uwe's ability for advertising, but they stated before their advertising budget was nil. So even if the game does so well it sells itself, any community involvement is always for the better.
I don't appreciate it when people are deceptive or manipulative in order to get attention or an advantage.
It would be shilling if I didn't honestly love the game and was promoting it for some other reason.
