<div class="IPBDescription">wat!?</div>I'm looking for information about the ability Swarm. I checked some wikis but don't have much detail.

"Extra damage when multiples attack"

Does that mean when I hit an enemy and I have swarm, my friends receive a bonus when hitting him shortly thereafter?

Or do I get a bonus when friends hit them?

Do we both need to have Swarm?

Do these bonuses apply to buildings? Gas? Bilebomb?

A dev answer would be great. The tooltip should be more informative in game too! Thanks

    If you have swarm and your buddy (they don't have to have it) hits a marine and you then hit him within three seconds, you do 25%(?) more damage.

    It is 25% more damage, but you have to hit them within 2 secs.

    Okay so basically, whenever a marine takes damage, he gets a "debuff" for a few seconds, during which time any OTHER aliens with Swarm get +25% damage on him.

    Is this about right?

    Do buildings get this debuff? If 2 gorges have Swarm, do both their bilebombs get 25% more damage!? I would hope so

    That is the oddest way I've heard it put but yeah :P

    The code checks if you have swarm when you hit a marine, if you have, it also checks the last time he was hit. If it was less than 2 secs, you get a 25% boost on damage from your hit.

    I only checked quickly so not sure if it also affects buildings :P

    Yes.
    And two fades hitting an armor 2 marine, once each, kills him. It takes 3 swipes alone.

    It can't be a simple damage check because otherwise you could qualify yourself for the 25% extra damage by damaging them yourself. Is there also a range caveat? Does the damage taken by the marine have to be from an alien in close proximity or can it be from lerk spikes across the map, for example?

    - Any other alien damages a marine
    - Attack that same marine within 2 seconds, while upgraded with Swarm you do +25% damage

    Simple as that. Bilebomb is also affected, two Gorges with Swarm is very deadly for appliances.

    Swarm is being removed from the game shortly. It's confusing and doesn't have a good home.

    Yeah I kinda found it a bit too difficult to get any use out of, espcially with more useful abilities that trigger consistently and more easily, or which provide a passive benefit.

    the one use of swarm that i found was spores when another alien was attacking!.. worked like magic.

    cant wait to see what other upgrades are implemented then.. because you are replacing them, not just removing them... right? ::concerned face::

    Swarm works when 2 aliens are hitting the same target.

    It is amazing for lerk and gorge and can be a useful upgrade for other aliens on 4th hive. If you have 4 hives chances are you can skulk with max upgrades every life, so xenocide would be awesome for this.

    Personally, I mainly used swarm when team lerk rushing a CS. I'm more fond of frenzy, because I found a frenzy/cara combo on the fade to be quite good (probably adding to opness of fades).

    Two good reasons why their removal is a great addition.
