Can't see server list on lowest resolution, what do?

In order to play the game at a decent fps i have to lower the graphics and resolution to lowest possible, i don't mind that.

The problem is, i can't see the server list on this lowest resolution, so i end having to increase the resolution to join a server and then switch it back to the lowest in order to play, it's sort of annoying.

    get a proper pc? ^^

    connect with the connect command in the console? but then you had to check for free slots in the web browser.

    I suppose that can help
    And i'm departing to university in 10 days, will be playing much MUCH less if any at all so it's not really worth it to buy a new comp.

    You could try the gathers mechanism...

    I haven't tried it ...but it could solve your problem.

    Add to that, i can't also buy weapons as a marine due to resolution (i changed it to a higher resolution and i could buy them).
    If the resolution is too low, i click the weapon icons and nothing happens.

    Here are a couple of things you could try:
    1. Raise the resolution to the next level and try getting better framerate using several console commands:
    r_atmospherics false
    r_bloom false
    r_shadows false
    r_instancing false

    2. Find a server IP from the list here (http://www.play4dead.com/ns2/ click on the orange servers text at the top) and connect to it directly via the console by typing
    connect ServerIP
