How good is it optimized at this patch?

I have only one laptop that barely can run even Natural Selection 1 smoothly(sometimes having 5 fps...),

so i have never expected playing NS2 with this.

But what i just found is, i can run somehow NS2 with 640x400. It's still not that playable for me and my great laptop as always, but i think it's kind of miracle that i can even run it, join server, and even just move around the map.

I think it's dramatically optimized in these few builds (not last build, i couldn't do anything at last build. Besides, build 190 was the first build that my laptop can firstly run the game), but how does it work to you guys? Is it just a miracle of my laptop, or is it the fact?

    If you can only run NS1 at 5 FPS, you have absolutely zero chance of being able to play NS2 on that machine. There have been optimizations lately, but not the miracle you're looking for.

    My fps are good, yet it feels like its far lower than it is with lots of stutter etc. to the point that hitting a marine as a skulk is very difficult. i7 950 at 4ghz with 5970 at 900 1200. Also shadows still don't work with crossfire.
