Blood Effects

Hey everyone!

This is a simple topic and probably doesn't warrant its own thread, but I didn't see a collective place to discuss the blood effects. First off, I think they are great. I really like neon blood spewing from the aliens in combat (marines too). The only thing I think could be added, which it may already be in the works, is blood decals on the walls and floors. It would be much more immersive and just plain cool! It would be great if the blood decals would trail on the walls and ceilings depending on how the target was moving when it was shot. The alien blood could slowly fade to a darker green or possibly (this is a stretch) develop into some sort of infestation whether cosmetic or having an effect on gameplay. Anyway, sorry if this thread is a total waste. I just wanted to discuss the blood effects as I find them highly important to the feel of the game. They add so much.

    Well UWE are looking at having upgrades to weapons, so perhaps a bullet type might be 'bleeders' so that they leave trails you can follow for a limited period of time.

    I guess this is more I&S though...

    I believe this is anticipated for NS2 1.0 but would require some effort from the engine developer Max. I may be wrong, but I believe this should be on his agenda for 1.0. This is a great suggestion and I doubt UWE would release NS2 without adding this typical and common feature in games with blood feedback, but, it wouldn't be the first time I'm wrong :P

    At first decals need to be implemented and then I am sure we will see some blood decals.
