<div class="IPBDescription">for hiding</div>I'd like to see the gorge have the ability to drop "pods", in which the smaller aliens (gorge, skulk, lerk) could hide. The pods would be fairly cheap (5 res?), and have a good amount of health/armor (100/50 or more). They would not attack.
Aliens could +use them which would cause the pod to open up. It would take a second or so for the pod to open. Once open, the pod could be entered by +using it again -- at which time the pod would immediately close. Once inside, the alien could look through the pod (similar to an egg). At any time, the alien could jump/leap out, which would cause the pod to immediately open and allow the alien to jump/leap in that direction.
- Once the pod is open, it would stay that way for 2-3 seconds, after which time it would automatically close.
- If an alien is already in the pod, another alien could not open it.
I'd love to see it be strategically feasible for a gorge to drop 5 or more pods in a room. This would add to the ominous atmosphere I like to see in this type of game.

Probably as an emergency hiding system
Well if it *works*, then it's taking well-earned kills away from a hard working Marine team. If it doesn't work, and Marines just start shooting pods when aliens suddenly disappear into them, then you haven't accomplished anything.
Cloaking and hiding on ceilings already provides a way to lie in wait for Marines. If this idea is intended to do that, it's redundant; if it's intended as an escape option from combat, it's unfair to Marines.
I don't know, Hives nowadays can spawn a lot of eggs (despite the slow spawn bug).
Although it would be cool if eggs can be made to stick onto surfaces like Cysts and Hydras. Ceiling egg surprise :D
