<div class="IPBDescription">Or ghosting for cloaked aliens</div>Flashlight is currently kinda pointless except right when the lights agent go out. I think it would be neat if instead of my infrared idea the flashlight subtaly revealed the cloak alien.
So unless the aliens are using some magic cloak field we we can assume they have super pigment shifting skin(explains why they have to walk slow)
Coolness, if flashlight confuses their cloak a little bit causing the light to prism and shoot small rainbows on the wall... Or just have it de-cloak like 10% so it's visible to the aware rine.
Cloak needs a balance to encourage the skilled rine otherwise will continue to be a blatant noob tactic ... No more cloaking in the middle of an open hallway, cloak in a nitch an ensure your surprise.

Returning it to it's old state, and adding in some sort of anti-cloak marine ability would enrich, and diversify the game, but will not happen. Invisibility will not be a game mechanic done right in NS2 I believe, we've strayed from the path. :p
Well at least we wont see it :D
If anything, this flashlight would only help for running in to a hive that's cloaked.. although you'd already be aware of it with the slowdown and the infestation around you anyway.
It's not a good purpose for the flashlight.
Wasn't happy about that, it opened a new game dynamic, that was basically untested by the average player.
That is the whole purpose of flashlights in general.
