Hives need a 'fall out' area. So that if a hive is fired upon it releases toxic gases to about a 5-10 meter radius, atleast.
Similarly, it would make a fair balance if CC's emitted a light electric pulse that would do damage to alien units attacking with melee.
I know you'ere gunna do it, but I like people to think I came up with the idea ^^)

They are going to add electrified command chairs?
If they do that, then they should at least give the hive some kind of upgrade.
It's like if you would be saying that a Flag in a hypothetical "Capture the Flag" gamemode would have a grenade strapped to it that would instantly kill whomever tries to pick it up.
completely anti-climactic and counter productive for a goal system.
I hope you understand what I'm trying to express by this.
While the marine structures explode and break into pieces quite nicely when they are destroyed, the alien structures just fall over, then mysteriously vanish. I think there should be some other animation added to the death sequence to make it less jarring. Something like it bursts into a cloud of green gas (but deals no damage), or withers and deliquesces into a pool of goo. That I think would look more natural, and would be even more rewarding for the victorious frontersmen.
Giving hives machine-gun lurk turrets, or making com chairs grow arms and beat attackers to death, just defeats the point of having a com chair or hive to attack. At that point it's just another weapon.
