Resource Storage Facility

<div class="IPBDescription">supply depot</div>I've once heard that the 'territory' system for NS2 was influenced by Company Of Heroes.
As I being a big fan of COH and also for the other RTS games, i have some ideas about Resource Storage system for NS2. Also a bit influenced by COH.
Firstly, the reason why I suggest this is because we can still easily see some annoying 999 tres or even 500+ pres. Especially for Aliens when dominating the game.
So this is my idea.
For both teams :
1. Initial amount of team resources that can be held is maximum 100. No resource production will be given anymore if exceeds.
2. There are some points(just like resource points) at the specific area of the map, on which commander can drop a structure that increases the maximum amount of resources that the team can maintain. (maybe give +30 spaces for each structures)
3. The structure must be called as "Resource Storage" or "Supply depot" or something.. and it costs 25 or 30 team resources.
4. Structure can be upgraded by using some more tres and that makes team to be able to hold +20 more resources. (so team can maintain +50 more resources when having upgraded Resource Storage)
- as it's a bit expensive, commander should contemplate to decide to choose, 'Resource Storage' to increase maximum amount of resources to maintain or just 'Extractor' or 'Harvester' to earn more resources and also faster.
Good decisions at specific moments are the most important thing for Real-Time-Strategy game.
p.s. of course, team loses resources when losing 'Resource Storage' structure.
for example ) team has 148 resources as having 1 upgraded Resource Storage. And if it being destroyed, they'll lose 48 resources and back to have only 100.
For individual players for aliens :
1. Each players can initially maintain maximum 80 personal resources. (if onos still costs 75 pres)
2. Players can upgrade themselves personally by using 20-30 resources to increase the amount of maximum resources. (+20) Maximum 3 or 4 times
- that would also make each alien players to use resources rightly. To evolve, or more space to maintain resources. And also compulsory
For individual players for marines :
1. Each players can initially maintain maximum only 70 personal resources. - as they use pres more frequently than aliens just using everything by once.
2. As Frontiersman should be well-organized, the upgrade by commander will let all of them maintain more pres. But, as everyone can get more space to maintain resources just by one click of commander. It should be a bit expensive and also give only less spaces than +10 resources.
- not so important for marines to increase maximum amount of pres, but maybe later, for exosuit or jetpacks, it would gonna also be compulsory just as aliens.
all together, we will be able to see more great tactics, to cut down their resources.

If you have 100 Tres you already have Mapcontrol and 80 Pres thats 1min as fade to get 10 more res to refade.
I understand your Idea but it needs to be a lower cap and it would be so low that the RTs lose at importance.
But the problem is the actual ressflow and as long as not all upgrades and tiers ( maybe even 3 chambers for full upgrade) are implemented it is a bad idea to work on the ress system especially by adding new nodes/building to handel the problem at this state of the game.
This is a bad idea, sorry. As a marine commander my resources in never a million years gets anywhere past 50. The only time it gets really above 40 is because I'm waiting for res to build a structure and get distracted and notice it's past 35. This would lose the whole purpose your idea.
You might say, well then just lower it to 30. That would cause some upgrades requirements to get this supply depot which would make it a another whole tier up. The game is tight on resources already so why would you need to limit them?
<b>Aliens</b>
This is yet again not a good idea, sorry. As an alien commander resources are hard to get early game because you need upgrades or a hive fast so you don't have time to place extractors. Once you do have excess resources its because you: <b>1)</b> Ran out of upgrades <b>2)</b> Its a pub and no one is commanding <b>3)</b> Waiting for a single or double hive drop. In all of these situations there is no point to limit res because you aren't even using it anyway.
<b>Both</b>
The only reason the res ever gets around 100+ is because you're in a pub and the commander has no idea what to spend the res on because its such a late game and tier 3 units aren't in yet to mass destroy structures and buildings.
I think the whole reason for this is to limit resources and slow the game down. I think the game is already slow enough and would slow the game down even more. Not to mention ruining even more of the uneven balances.
