Idea for lurker

I was just watching the latest vid on the front page and i thought it might be a good idea if lurkers could cling to walls by maybe pressing the crouch key when flying near a wall. When clinging to a wall the lurker will be unable to move till you let go of the crouch key think kind of like a bat hanging upside down from the ceiling.

    Lerk, not lurker, but in any case I think this is already planned.

    do we KNOW this is planned? cause honestly i'd love to see this too, also cool escape maneuvers would be cool like loops or reverse dives.

    I don't know if it is still planed but it was already implemented more than half a year ago but has been removed.

    Doesnt sound very usefull - a static lerk, is a dead lerk. (or useless lerk)

    hmm lerk/lurk howar without flapping?

    .. will be interesting to see bunch of lerks hangs on the hillside in the Crevice.

    I don't think the feature would mean lerks are always using it... however, it could work kind of like a skulk ambush. A lerk could find a dark corner and as a marine walks by, alt fire then flap around. It is pretty unsafe for a lerk to just sit on the ground around a corner waiting for marines to come... easy way to get killed. But it would make a bit more sense if the lerk could latch onto a wall or ceiling... would make it easier for a lerk to drop into battle in certain situations.

    Nothing over-powering, but does give the lerk a bit more options on how to engage or set up traps.

    It would let him hide pretty much wherever, though, and that + shotgun spikes should be effective.
    Add on cloaking, and...

    I love this idea. Just imagine walking into DC from vent and having a bunch of lerk's drop in on you with shotgun spikes. It would make them much more batlike which would add to their mystique imo. Lerk's look really cool but they've always felt kinda goofy to me and this could make them feel a lot more dark and insidious.

    I like this idea as well. While 'attached' to a surface, a range/accuracy increase would be awesome. (To balance the upcoming spike nerf.)

    removed ... with lerk movement model 2.0?

    When I thinking abot it, the claws for hanging on the walls / ceilings should require holding down the button (in example "use" button / "E").
    As penalization for the ability to hangs on walls / ceilings .. the lerk should not be able to attack until is on the wall.
    (similar to marines ... while you weld / repairing power node, you are not able to shoot)
