<div class="IPBDescription">Short NS2 fragmovie teaser</div>Hey everyone.
After playing alot of casted pcws, I thought I would make a quick little teaser for the future fragmovie I'm going to make, when the replay editor arrives.
The picture quality is not the greatest, but that's because the video files were rendered with a codec twice(actually three if you count youtube's converting in :P).
Once when the casters coded them, once when I recoded them.
I thought some of you might enjoy it, so I made a topic here(need a sub-forum for stuff like this :P).

    It was at its best when you had long fight scenes with little camera movement.

    I had very little to do with the camera movements, as I didn't record any of them :P
    I just used what I had available.
    All the scenes are taken out of castings, some with commentating.

    Great job swalk ^^ the teaser is fantastic.
    I've been thinking about doing something like this for a while except no demo rec, and I know nothing about making movies haha =D.
    Looking forward to seeing the complete version!

    The bare minimum for fragmovies that aren't pointless is first person spectating, but you're still limited by fraps image quality. Making decent fragmovies is simply not possible until some sort of playback recording functionality is added. No offense dude, but I wouldn't waste my time if I was you.

    Actually they're encoded 4 times because youtube encodes the cast videos once and also your video. Unless you got the material straight from the caster of course.

    I'm all up for sending higher quality material to you. Just let me know after the matches. I usually delete the raw fraps recordings pretty soon, but i keep the xdiv encoded ones. I guess Hackepeter stores them too. So if you want to avoid one youtube encoding it might useful for us to send these to you.



    I guess it would be appropriate to link some of the casts the material was taken from.

    The whole thing evolved from us watching videos and live games together while talking about them. So it's not too serious, just something we felt worth trying for.

    As I said, this is just some teaser thing I made in a few hours, might be enjoyable for some, and maybe not for others.
    The full movie will have to wait until we have demorecording, first person spectating and a replay editor for camerapathing etc.
    I know how to make decent quality fragmovies, and what is needed for them.

    Thanks mate, you're right about the number of encodings! :P I'm too lazy to edit the OP though :D
    That sounds awesome, but I guess I want to wait until the replay editor arrives before I start working on anything major :P
