You can play on tram and rockdown as well. It's just that most people get better performance on summit right now so it's the most played.

Now, I'm writing this just before the patch comes out: When you whiny babies start whining and ###### about this, remember that 182 will force you all to lose your virginity and give you an infinite supply of ice cream, and bring peace to the world. It will also make Fox uncancel Firefly and Arrested Development. You can quote me on this.

But I have to concur. Also, the lerk damage bypassing armor makes them really powerful, especially against late-game marines. Spray damage needs to be greatly reduced to compensate.

Down and up randomly switch so that you can no longer look up, but can look down 180 degrees, thus inverting your view. Pretty strange seeing the floor as the ceiling. Of course this make playing as a lerk impossible as you can fly upwards.
I'm almost positive my widescreen FOV is messed up in this patch. Marines are funny now if you look as far down as you can, you start running backwards.
Other than those, the patch seems good so far! Very playable, framerate is consistent.
I am loving the patch so far. Lag has improved, balance is really quite good(played probably about 5-6 games now tonight, each one lasted ~30-40 minutes, and every time a different team won, depending on how good they played).
No huge turret farms, cysts are beautiful, skulks are speedy quick, pathing works; it is really starting to remind me more and more of the NS1 experience, updated with more awesomeness and fresh air.
Unfortunately aliens appear to be far too powerful now, havent had a good game all night on all the servers. Just ends up with aliens getting second hive everytime and its over... unplayable in my opinion until an update.... :-( Stuff like this that drives everyone away, can't get friends to play.
Also, macs appear to be bugged to hell from the path redo. They are super sluggish and are getting stuck in the wide open.
Agree on server performance, seems to be much better.
Not happy about the turret ammo, would rather have energy limits or entity limits...
As much as a love the skulk level 1 leap, I believe they may be right in removing it, because this will return the need for skulks to lay boobietraps, which is going to make some interesting gameplay.
I am disappointed that the fade did not get any changes, I understand them hitting slower vs marines, but I am annoyed that they still can't kill structures. A solution would be to give them a bonus against structures, so they can at least match the speed of a skulk taking a structure down. I am basically unbeatable as a marine commander because of this system if the aliens can't finish it before we reach mid game and thats a petty.
The no delay on hit, marine jump, skulk speed and only having to use 1 command structure as a commander are what I consider positive changes.
I did not mention this before because Lerk v 2.0 was announced, but I also believe Lerk is overpowered, you can get em generally fast and their movement is so disorientating that they are to hard to hit for any half decent marine plus their spike attack seems to do quite some damage. Two lucky shotgun hits did the trick, but now that shotgun is nerved I fear Tear 1 vs Tier 1, marines are no match for lerk.
Thats my views on the change log, Ill go try them out ingame now ;)
Played a couple games so far, have to say I'm liking the changes. The cyst and shotgun changes being the big two for me. Jumping as marine seems to be just as annoying as it was before for aliens, and I haven't noticed the reload on turrets changing anything. Might be the marine comm kept on it very well, but I didn't get a feeling they were spitting out less dmg overall.
I also did notice a good amount of server performance boost.
I like the leap now being hive2. Effectively preventing too short rounds when skulks are rushing marine start right at the beginning before IPs have gone up or taking down the only IP that is up. And you can't just run straight to a marine in a long corridor anymore right at the beginning thus making the skulk more of an ambush creature at the beginning. When it has the leap it's becomming a (suicide) general purpose attacker instead.
I think the improved pathing however meant only ground-moving units (arcs, maybe unrooted whips).

I felt the same in build 180. They can change altitudes very quickly and just move around in ways that make them very difficult to hit.

You knew this was a beta when you signed up. 120 fps of skipping all over the place, no hit detection, no skills implemented, and lag up the wazoo would be even worse. Come back in 5-10 builds.
Forgot to mention this in my earlier post, but the hit detection is getting MUCH better! I felt reasonably confident as a marine, though I'll admit a better framerate would make combat easier to follow. Until that happens, great work!

Funny, I found it pretty even and have played around 5 games so far. Marines win some and aliens others, aliens seem to dominate however early game now(shotgun nerf+lerk). However if marines make it past that they usually will win.
The main problem I find is the lag, and pathing(also noticed sound issues, marines don't always cough and perspective is way off it seems). Yes at first it did seem improved, but it's still horrible when you get a few turrets/buildings up on either side(for some reason especially skulks are laggy and tend to pop around ALOT). I have also seen a MAC and Arc go off the map since 181 which causes extreme lag(I believe this was a old build issue which seems to have been revived). I do know it's beta, but we have to inform of issues if we expect them to be resolved(they stated in patch notes of extreme server performance boosts which obviously is not the case)!

Lerk gas is now overpowered, and shotgun after nerf needs run->shot time reduced to balance the weapon.
They r clearly overpowered.
