It would be very helpful if commanders could turn phase gates on and off to get marines to desired locations quickly, but still re-enable phase gates in key locations when needed.

This also might be a way to change the order of the pgs. For example, lets say I have three pgs in the order of marine start - heliport - surface access. If I want to rearrange them so that they go marine start - surface access - heliport, what I could do is turn off, then back on again, the heliport pg.
I would like a simple way of rearranging the way a PG goes, like a skill on it that lets you select its destination. the ability to turn it off would be cool too.
it would also be nice to see the paths of the pg-network on the minimap.
Having an easier way of determining and setting PG order should be implemented along with the ability to shut them off and on.
When clicking a PG, along with the On/Off Key, there should be a list with PG's and the room they're in, click and drag them to the order you prefer :] and double clicking them jumps to them on your screen.
I had an similiar idea: It would be cool that if you enter an phase gate a list comes up with the pgs that are on the map already either a minimap with a small icon where you can click on it, or a list with names that have been given to the pgs by the map itself, only problem would be corridors that are nameless, those pgs needs to have numbers then.
I for myself would prefer the icon idea, then you dont have the problem with the names.

I always liked that too many phasegates had the downside of increased average travel time to a location.
I think, if commanders gain the ability to turn off phasegates, these phasegates should take some time to power up and/or not give any attack warnings to the commander/team when switched off. Aliens would have a better way of dealing with phasegate spam and marine commanders would have to make hard choices regarding phasegate strategies so it doesn't end up in brainless phasegate spam. One marine can still cover the powered down phasegate and report an attack.

Sounds simple right?
