Builder or healing Gorge needs some love.

I have noticed that with recent resource changes, it is very difficult to play gorge as a healer or assistant builder. Since the recent resource model change seems skewed to kills, the accumulation of personal resources are extremely slow for a gorge that must rely on harvesters. I understand that the gorge can be successfully played as a battle medic on the front line, but with the hit slow down even affecting the belly slide, it is very difficult to retreat. The upcoming "armored crouch" may help.
There needs to be another method of feeding a Gorge that remains behind the lines.
Some Ideas...
1. Gorges can eat (recycle) structures (suggested in Get Satisfaction)
2. Gorges on DI get a P-res bonus
3. Gorges can suck on a pustule or harvester (seen suggested somewhere)
4. Commanders can convert some team res to give to gorges as P-res (I don't like this idea)
5. Gorges get a small percentage of P-res from each of their teammate kills (my favorite idea)
Any other ideas?
The gorge is not broken but I feel that something is needed to supplement P-res for those that are playing the alien as a healer/builder/assistant.

alien commander
1.focuses on upgrades for the aliens
2.builds hives
3.build RTs
4.help organize tactical attacks
gorges
1.builds chambers
2.builds RTs
the only thing alien commander and gorge should have in common, they both can build RTs. alien commander compared to marine commander should have somewhat less minor role since we have two different races. And both must act, and be completely different from each other. Also to remember, aliens are more melee type race, every alien is needed on the front lines.
I'm not saying what I wrote is set in stone, but the current role gorge has is pretty boring, and lame one compared to ns1 gorge. I'm no fan of alien commander at all, so I believe that role should be a minor role for the alien race since they are different from the marines.
- 0.5 PRes for helping grow Alien Commander structures/other Gorge Hydras (not your own)
- 0.5 Pres for healing players to full health during gestation as an egg.
- 1 PRes for assist kill (when kill isn't yours but you helped) via Spit, Heal Spray (damage Marine or healing a player who does the kill), Hydra spikes and Bile Bomb.
- 3 Pres for healing a Hive to full health while constructing (certain health threshold, so you can't just pop 1 spray when Hive's at 99%, lol)
More ways to get Pres as a Gorge are fine by me!
I think gorges should get a bit more pres over time by other means, even healing could yield some res, for example healing someone to 100 gives you some pres.
I would love it if gorges could build crags again, at the moment crags usually are only built at the hive for upgrades and to protect the hive, leaving hydra outposts vulnerable as they have nothing to support them. It is frustrating as a gorge to build hydras only to have someone easily defeat them as the chambers are unable to heal themselves. I do not understand why gorges cannot build crags, as a support role I would have thought it would make sense they could also build crags with hydras. It means they could also make a healing outpost for team members to run back to for healing.
From what I have seen the average time someone stays comm in ns2 on aliens is about 5 mins, often they leave the hive to provide additional support on heated areas. I would not expect a comm to be actively seeking out gorge outposts and sending drifters to the outposts to become crags.
i would like to see the alien commander stay...it is a tactical addition that is much needed.
But the gorge should be the forward base builder.
and a forward base does not really exist without a crag.
The suggestion that both the commander and gorge built structures was the best one.
The commander could be more focused on upgrades, hives, and tactical coordination.
The gorge could be more focused on forward bases and assisting the commander in bringing up a hive (hydras etc).

That way you don't need as many weapon slots.
Since the crag and whip became tech structures it would make sense to have a mini version of both.
I'm getting ahead of myself but this could also apply to the shade.
- I'm not sure if it would work/be viable but you could make the mini versions unlock the gorge versions of each structure.
- Another way to do it would be to allow the gorge to build each of these 3 structures, and the commander could decide to upgrade(evolve) them into the mature versions, perhaps making more of a size and ability difference between the two tiers. (my favorite idea)

How about let them eat leftover marine weapons for a small PRes bonus, depending on what you eat?
Would give an incentive to snatch away those weapons from the ground before marines come back.
And then make hydras that shoot flames!
The alien commander could be focused on what should be our priority.
like rushing the marine base
protecting the hive
taking down power etc.
I think we are getting assaulted with
the hive is being attacked
your friend is being attacked
this structure is being attacked
and everyone is ignoring them because well they are too constant and all over the place.
